Obesity is a mojar public health problem in worldwide, especially in Indonesia. Obesity in addition to affecting productivity, is also trigger for other chronic disease such as diabetes and cardiac disease. Body mass index is an assessment tool used to assess degree of individual adiposity to define overweight, obesity, and severe obesity.The determination of obesity is based on the calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI), which devide body weight (kg) by height (cm2). In addition to the method of regulating diet, exercise, and bariatric surgery for weight loss, it was reported that the biophysical therapy tool, that is static magnetic field (SMF) became a modality for weight loss. Based on research reports, it proves that the static magnetic field affects weight loss in the group of obese mice after 30 days of exposure. Therefore, in this study, we carried out static magnetic field exposure to obese mice with a field intensity of 2 mT for 1 hour/day. Mice were exposed gradually to SMF on 2, 7, 14, and 21 days to determine the effectiveness of SMF to obesity in mice in terms of weight loss and cellular adipose cell density. The results showed that the weight of mice decreased significantly on 2nd and 7th days of exposure, the trend showed a decrease in body weight until the 14th day. The density of adipose tissue is increased after exposure to SMF on the 14th and 21st days of exposure. It showed that early exposure to SMF (2 and 7 days) could induce weight loss in mice, while cellularly SMF increased adipose cell density on late exposure (14 and 21 days).
Zingiberaceae dikenal sebagai tanaman jahe-jahean merupakan famili dari tanaman berbunga monokotil yang terdiri dari sekitar 1600 jenis herba. Kandungan senyawa polifenol (kurkumin) dan minyak atsiri yang terdapat pada zingiberaceace memiliki aktivitas antiiflamasi, antimikroba, anti-diare, antivirus, dan antikanker. Masyarakat lokal (Jambi) telah memanfaatkan jenis-jenis Zingiberaceae sebagai bumbu masak, bahan kosmetik, dan obat tradisional. Penelitian tentang keragaman jenis-jenis Zingiberaceae di Provinsi Jambi belum banyak dilakukan, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis Zingiberaceae yang ada di Provinsi Jambi yang ditemukan di Pasar Tradisional dan Modern sebagai sumber informasi dasar pengembangan secara budidaya/ ekonomi. Studi obeservasi dilakukan dengan pencatatan secara langusng terhadap Jenis-jenis Zingiberaceace yang ada ditemukan di pasar tradisional dan pasar modern yang ada di provinsi Jambi. Data kemudian dibuat dalam bentuk tabulasi, selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Total 13 jenis Zingiberaceae yang ditemukan di pasar tradisional dan dari 13 jenis tersebut hanya ada 3 jenis saja yang juga ditemukan di pasar modern, yaitu: kunyit, kencur dan jahe merah. Bagian tanaman Zingiberaceae yang paling banyak dimanfaatkan adalah rimpang. Jenis-jenis famili Zingiberaceae yang umum dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Jambi adalah Kunyit, Kencur, Jahe Putih, Lengkuas, Kapulaga, Lempuyang, Temu Kunci, Jahe Merah, Bangle, Temu Putih, Temu Ireng, Kecombrang, dan Temulawak. Jenis-jenis tersebut sebagian besar digunakan sebagai obat tradisional dan bumbu masakan. Kata kunci: Pemanfataan, Zingiberaceae, Jambi, Tradisional, Modern.
Obesity is closely related to cardiovascular disease. APOB protein was a better predictor of LDL particle count. Increased troponin T protein is also indicated as an indication of the risk of CHD disease. Static Magnetic Field (SMF) is an electromagnetic applied in therapy because only a simple magnetic disk is used to generate it both in vitro and in vivo. The use of SMF is considered to affect the biological state of cells so that it can affect weight loss in mice. The method used was male c57bl/6j mice with groups of Obes0, Obes2, Obes7, Obes 14, and Obes21 fed high-fat diet and then exposed to SMF with an intensity of 2mT for 1 hour. The results obtained were that there was a significant difference p=0.015 (p<0.05) in the protein concentration of APOB and there was no significant difference in the concentration of cTnT taken from the blood serum of mice. The increase in APOB protein levels in each control group was not found to have an increase in cTnT protein so that the two proteins did not have a linear correlation between the two proteins 0.598 (p>0.05). Most of the protein concentrations of APOB and cTnT decreased in concentration at longer days. It can be seen morphologically in the heart there is a decrease in the number of adipose cells.
