The characteristics of the 1045 steel pairs using serpentine particles as grease lubricant additive were investigated by an AMSLER friction and wear tester. The surface topographies and composition of the worn surface of 1045 steel rings were identified by SEM and XPS. The results show that the additives can form a self-repairing film on the worn metal surface. It can reduce the abrasion of the friction pairs significantly. The main elemental compositions of the film are Fe, O, Si, C and Mg, which indicates that the additives directly take part in the formation of the self-repairing film.
Sliding experiments lubricated with hydroxyl silicate magnesium particles as additive
were performed under ambient condition and different loads by using an AMSLER friction and
wear tester. The surface topographies and compositions of worn surface of 45 steel rings were
analyzed by SEM and EDAX. The experimental results show that the friction load had great effect
on generation of the frictionally-formed protective coating. No protective coating formed on the
worn steel surface under lower friction load. However, a smooth and continuous protective coating
can be developed on the worn surface of the steel when the friction load is high enough. The
chemical composition of the protective coating is roughly the same as the additive. The additive can
be fractured, stretched and flowed along the sliding direction under high contacting stress and
instantaneous flash temperature, which result in coating being formed.
Light wood-frame structure, as not only has good seismic performance, but also can give full play to its ligneous advantages such as light mass, high tenacity, energy saving and environment protection, is widely applied to low-rise buildings and villas. The rigidity and ductility of shear wall structured by wood-frame are closely related to its sheathing material and the nail layout. In order to give full play to the carrying capacity of the nailed connection nodes, the article adopts the finite element model to compare the stress distributions of sheathings with different nail spacing, and the carrying capacity of the connection at the point of the sheathing is destructed, and also to provide the reasonable value of nail layout and a reference for the actual structural design.
A more accurate simulation of the response to the structure under seismic load action can be generated through taking bi-directional seismic motion input into consideration. The commonly used four calculation methods of bi-directional input are adopted in this paper to compare the different dynamic responses of mega steel-frame structure to seismic load action. The paper also provides a method for choosing Raleigh damping coefficients applicable to the dynamic analysis of mega steel-frame structure.
The characteristics of the 1045 steel pairs using superfine mineral powder as grease lubricant additive were investigated by an AMSLER friction and wear tester at different wear states. The surface topographies and composition of the worn surface of 1045 steel rings were identified by SEM and EDAX. The surface roughness of the samples was investigated by a profilometer. The results show that the additives can form a self-repairing film on the worn metal surface at Sliding state and there no film formed on the worn metal surface at Rolling-Sliding state. The reason is that the friction heat and friction energy produced by Sliding friction higher than the friction heat and friction energy produced by Rolling-Sliding friction.
