This study aims to develop massive open online course web vinnarrai.com as E-learning on fundamental physics subject and to increase higher order thinking skill of students. This research method used research and development by the ADDIE (Analyse-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation) model. The object of this study was 30 students in the physics education program of State University of Jakarta. The validation in this research used material expert validation sheet, media expert validation sheet, learning validation sheet, multiple choice questions, and higher order thinking skill questionnaire. Material expert validation results show 86.5 % (very good). Media expert validation results show 88.0 % (very good). Learning validation results show 89.0 % (very good). Based on the results of the investigation on the effectiveness of vinnarrai.com web on fundamental physics subject, obtained N-gain equal to score of 0.72 in high category. This shows the increased score of higher order thinking skill participants. Based on data above, this study showed that the development of Massive Open Online Course on fundamental physics subject can increase high order thinking Skill of Students.
This Quasi Experimental research aims to analyze the learning achievement of grade XI students of Public Senior High School in Bekasi, West Java-Indonesia. Two experiment science classes were selected as samples by using purposive random sampling. The 1st sample class was taught using laboratory kit activity; whirls the 2nd sample class was using PhET interactive simulation. The data was collected using written test to measure students’ achievement and then statistically analyzed using t-test to determine the hypothesis either be accepted or not. The normal distribution and homogeneity tests were also applied to know that the data was normally distributed, and all the variances were homogeneous with level of significant >0.05. The t test result indicated that the value of tcalculation (3,052) was greater than and tTable (1,667) that shown that there was a significant difference between the learning achievement of class 1 and 2 with mean value of 70.85 and 63.26, respectively. In conclusion that learning process using PhET interactive simulation provided higher students’ achievement compared to those class which apply laboratory kit activity of gas kinetic theory.
The purpose of this research is to know whether guided inquiry learning model can improve student's creative thinking ability of class X-1 Public High School 59 Jakarta. This research is a classroom action research according to Kurt Lewin model: (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting. Research was conducted from January 2017 to June 2017 with 36 students at Public High School 59, class X-1, Jakarta, Indonesia as experiment subject. Data was collected through observation, written test and documentation. The result of student's creative thinking ability obtained by 52,00% for fluency aspect in cycle 1 and 60,57% in cycle 2. Flexibility aspect increased from 44.29% in cycle 1 to 55.71% in cycle 2, originality aspect increased from 49, 52% in cycle 1 to 59,05% in cycle 2, and elaboration aspect increased from 45,71% in cycle 1 to 58,57% in cycle 2. According to the obtained data, it can be concluded that guided inquiry learning model can improve student's creative thinking ability in fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration aspects.
This research aims to develop a connected Massive Open Online Course (cMOOCs) based on multimedia for thermodynamics subject to improve students’ self-directed learning outcomes. Self-directed learning is for students to improve skill, gain achievement and knowledge, or self development and taken by self effort with any methods in any situation; ability to determine a learning goal, take an action to achieve that goal and evaluate learning effectivity of learning and learning outcomes. cMOOCs is an open online course that is free for many users to participate. This research subject is Thermodynamics related to heat and calor, temperature, thermodynamics laws, and energy exchange. This research method used ADDIE model with the following steps: Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implementing, and Evaluating. Research was conducted in Physics education departement, State University of Jakarta for six months, started from October 2018 until April 2019. Students’ self-directed learning outcomes improvement test was conducted by pre-test and post-test in two classes (class A and class B) with n-gain result of class A by 0.75 (high) and class B by 0.34 (medium). Results of validation test showed score 93.33% for material validation, 92.59% for media validation, and 92.60% for learning validation. It can be concluded that developed cMOOCs can improve students’ self-directed learning outcomes.
This research aims to develop a website on General Physics subject to increase analytical skills of students. Developed website can be used by using computer or smartphone. The ADDIE research method which are Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implement, and Evaluating. Research was conducted in Laboratory of Media Digital atState University of Jakarta for six months, starts from November 2018 until May 2019 with students of Physics Education Program, State University of Jakarta as object of research. Indicators of analytical skill measured in this research are giving a reasoning, making a conclusion, evaluating a conclusion, predicting a conclusion, considering the validity of an argument, and explaining something using data. Students’ analitycal skill improvement test was conducted by pre-test and post-test in two classes (class A and class B) with n-gain result of class A was 0,66 (medium) and class B was 0,28 (low). Results of validation test showed score 92,30% for material validation, 91,85% for media validation, and 90,37% for learning validation. According to this research result, can be concluded that developed website on general physics subject can increase students’ analytical skill. All of the instruments in this research can be seen at website http://vinnarrai.com
