The purpose of this study was to investigate the casual relationship among social activity, leisure activity and subjective quality of life of the rural elderly. For this end, this study analyzed the differences of the factors by the demographic characteristics and the effects of the social activity and leisure activity on subjective quality of life of the rural elderly. The data was collected using structured questionnaires, and total 324 responses were used in the data analysis. According to the results of this study, the social activity, leisure activity and subjective quality of life was shown to the partially differences by the demographic characteristics. The social activity and leisure activity of the rural elderly had a positive effect on the satisfaction and expectation of life as the subjective quality of life. The religious activities and leisure activity had a positive effect on the satisfaction of life, and the leisure activity through hobbies had a positive effect on the expectation of life. The economic activity had a positive effect on the subjective economic satisfaction, expectation of living standard and municipal government. Also, the volunteer activity and pastime had a positive effect on the subjective health satisfaction. Finally, this study was discussed the theoretical and practical implications as well as the solution to the subjective quality of life of the rural elderly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among the work satisfaction and quality of life with retirement preparation of middle-aged workers. Data from 283 subjects were collected and analyzed. The findings are as follows. First, people with higher quality of life tend to care more on health planning. Second, financial planning has nothing to do with quality of life, whereas self-respect has a positive effect on all the other indicators for retirement preparations except financial planning. Third, retirement preparations has not been affected by work satisfaction. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings were discussed and the directions for future research were suggested.
The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the leasure activity and social support of the elderly people on their psychological well-being and the moderating role of social support. For this study, data were collected from 347 old people participating in the leasure activity programs operated by 10 facilities for the aged in Seoul, using structured questionnaires. Hierarchical regression analysis technique was used as a main data analysis method for hypothesis test. This study found that productive leasure activity had a beneficial effect on psychological well-being of the elderly measured in terms of life satisfaction and loneliness, whereas consumptive leasure activity had a positive effect only on life satisfaction; that, with regard to social support, spouse support had the most important effect on life satisfaction, followed by friend support and children support, whereas friend support had the most important effect on loneliness, followed by spouse support; and that the relationship between productive leasure activity and life satisfaction was moderated by spouse support and friend support , whereas the relationship between productive leasure activity and loneliness was moderated by friend support.■ keyword :|Elderly|Psychological Well-Being|Leisure Activity|Social Support|Moderating Role|
The purpose of this study is to consider the effect of the Culture and Education Activities on the psychological well-being Convergence Formation of the Elderly. This study is based on the quantitative research of 255 older adults who have participated on the Culture and Education Activities programs run by welfare center and culture center for the elderly at Seoul area. The results are as follows. First, social Goal-Oriented and Activities-Oriented have effect on Life-Satisfaction. Second, Activities-Oriented and Learning-Oriented has effect on Self-Efficacy. Third, Activities-Oriented and Learning-Oriented has effect on Participation-Attitude. Fourth, but relations of the Learning-Oriented and Life-Satisfaction, Goal-Oriented and Self-Efficacy, Goal-Oriented and Participation-Attitude were independent of each other. This study can be use to propose policies related to the elderly welfare promotion.
