In this study, based on a critical review of the 32-item Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (Mehling, Price, Daubenmier, Acree, Bartmess & Stewart, 2012; MAIA), a 32-item Korean edition of MAIA was developed in a pilot study and validated in two studies. In a pilot study, the 32 items of MAIA were adapted to Korean language, then administered to 253 adults for item analysis. Based on the results on item discrimination, internal consistency, and exploratory factor analysis, the scale was revised and reconstructed. In the study 1, the scale was administered to 295 adults; reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis were performed, and correlation coefficients with other related scales were examined. In addition, interoceptive awareness was compared among groups with varying experiences in training related to interoceptive awareness. In the study 2, the scale was administered to 223 adults; confirmatory factor analysis was performed. Results showed that the Korean edition of MAIA with a total of 32 items and six factors had sufficient reliability and validity, demonstrating a high reliability based on internal consistency of .94, theoretically consistent levels of correlation coefficients with other scales, and satisfactory construct validity. This study investigates how the length and strength of an expected social relationship are related to different self-presentations. Participants from Korea and the USA were assigned to different relationship conditions using vignettes, and indicated their self-evaluation of personal abilities and social skills. The main effects of both relationship length and strength were found. There were more drastic interactions of culture and relationship length in intensive social relationship conditions than in loose conditions. Based on the results, we claim that the fundamental motivation for positive self-regard is universal, regardless of culture and the self-presentations that are tactical by individuals' social needs.

This research has examined the main effects and interaction effect of person-organization fit and machiavellism on perceived organizational politics. This study was conducted by using sample of 396 public officers and analyzed the main and interaction effect of P-O fit and machiavellism on perceived organizational politics by hierarchical regression analyses which controlled demographic factors. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, as P-O fit score increased, the degree of perceived organizational politics tended to decrease( =-.143, p<.01). Second, the higher level of machiavellism was, the lower perceived organizational politics( =.272, p<.001). Third, interaction effect of P-O fit and machiavellism on the perceived organizational politics was significant(⊿ =.024, p<.01). Furthermore, results of this study showed that among three sub-factors of P-O fit, only needs-supplies and demands- ability had a interaction effect with machiavellism(needs-supplies: ⊿ =.033, p<.001; demands-ability: ⊿ =.024, p<.01). Finally, implications of this study and tasks of future research were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Connectedness to Nature Scale(K-CNS), which was translated from the Connectedness to Nature Scale(CNS) developed by Mayer and Frantz. For this study, questionnaires were conducted with a sample of 407 Korean citizens from various backgrounds and regions, with the ages ranging from 17 to 60. Exploratory factor analysis, internal consistency test and correlation checks were conducted on this questionnaires data. The results of exploratory factor analysis supported that the K-CNS has 10 items in a single factor. The internal consistency of the K-CNS was .880. The K-CNS was positively correlated to the NEP (New Environmental Paradigm), satisfaction with life, mental health, compassionate love, and negatively correlated to stress response. In addition, differences were found by group and age, but not by the gender. The K-CNS was higher in the natural-friendly group than in the general group. By age, the K-CNS scores was high in 40s and 50s than 10-39 years old.
