Computer simulation has great application potential in the area of Production Engineering as a tool to support decision making as it allows to simulate the functioning of a real system through logical relationships, in order to observe its behavior under different scenarios. Which could not be practiced in the real system. In line with this aspect, the present work aims to present a report on the application of simulation for the design of production batches and inventory control, highlighting the process necessary for the construction of the generated simulation model, as well as the challenges and opportunities observed. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a literature review was carried out on the topics of interest; the choice and understanding of simulation software and; the survey of data from a large auto parts manufacturer located in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The main results were an increase in production volume from the inclusion and dimensioning of a buffer after the assembly process and a balance between the number of items of each component of the product structure in the supply with the real capacity of manufacturing cell processing. Cabe ressaltar que o modelo de simulação produto da pesquisa deste artigo pode ser aplicado como um sistema de apoio à decisão do gestor para a elaboração do planejamento estratégico e do planejamento operacional com o propósito de melhorar a capacidade de análise e decisão. It is important mentioning that the simulation model in this article can be applied as a support system decision for the preparation of strategic planning and operational planning, with the purpose of improving the analysis capacity for decision-making.
In recent years, industrial and service organizations have invested in improvement projects with emphasis on increasing the performance of processes regarding to the production of manufactured goods and services, applying techniques to optimize production time in order to minimize the restrictive effects of the funds invested in processing or obtaining processes in order to reduce the losses of general scope. This paper discusses the impact of the innovation in making use of business intelligence (BI) concepts about production records of a publishing area in a higher education institution (HEI) that promotes distance education (DE) in Brazil, helping the industry in their managements decisions, having a target minimize time on production of learning material through more effective control with the use of cubes in the form of reports for metric queries of delivery delays and metrics on the production tasks financial values, and filtering the processed information so that managers can view information from various angles and managerial perspectives. The objectives of this paper are to demonstrate the impact on using BI concepts in the process of an editorial department of a HEI focusing on the development of teaching materials for the courses of DE and identify the financial cost-benefit ratio for the HEI with the deploying BI in a software fee platform in its publishing department. The sector is responsible by in courseware publishing organizations that usually do not have systems with this emphasis: support on making managerial decisions.
Neste artigo se aborda a evolução do Planejamento, Programação e Controle da Produção (PPCP) como atividades essenciais da empresa à educação ambiental, por meio da pesquisa exploratória em revisão bibliográfica. Neste cenário, apresentar-se-ão como objetivos gerais: i) uma nova forma de estruturar a produção, considerando a Produção Mais Limpa (P+L) no cerne das Instalações, Capacidade, Tecnologia e Terceirização da empresa, e ii) as mudanças de infraestrutura ao atendimento das necessidades delineadas pelo mercado consumidor e a disseminação da educação ambiental interna. As necessidades que surgem da nova forma se resumem em: adequação de instalações; implementação de tecnologias limpas na fabricação e manufatura e de ecorredes; instrução e disseminação de conceitos sobre educação ambiental internamente; simplificação dos fluxos produtivos; e necessidade de se adaptar aos paradigmas.
O cadastro de produtos é uma atividade primária e essencial de qualquer negócio, mas pode estar cercada por várias armadilhas quando é feitaexclusivamente de forma manual, pois inconsistências nos cadastros podem gerar análises incorretas sobre o negócio, resultando emdecisões equivocadas. Nesse sentido, o uso de técnicas de aprendizado demáquina pode contribuir para melhorar esse processo. O presente estudo avaliou o uso de diferentes algoritmos e estratégias de aprendizado de máquina em uma atividade de categorização de produtos a partir de suas descrições em uma empresa com alta frequênciade criação de novos produtos. Um novo processo foi sugerido a partirda escolha do melhor algoritmo, que apresentou potencial para a redução de erros e revisou o tipo de processo de totalmente manual para semiautomatizado. Além do ganho específico parao caso analisado, o artigo também apresenta o caminho de construção, validação e escolha de modelos de aprendizado, o que contribui para a reprodutibilidade em outros contextos.
Manufacturing system, with high level of complexity and with a mix of semi-repetitive and repetitive products, to become productive, should seek the standardization of products and processes to obtain the optimization of use of production resources. However, it is necessary to measure the productivity, so that the system of measurement and control of manufacturing processes are an element critical as to ensure greater visibility of the flow's restrictions, minimized when detected properly. In this case, the automation of factory's measurement process can effectively contribute to ensuring the effectiveness of the function control of a manufacturing system. It is important to consider that the automation of the system of measurement and control of manufacturing processes, of complex environment, is heavily dependent of IT tools applied directly in the interface computational between the operation systems and the corporate systems. This heavy reliance, if exploited technically properly, allows that automation of the system of measurement and control of production makes the access to time real of availability of manufacturing process's data, such as processing time and setup time that it can export to a specialist software in programming production, for example, feasible. In this paper, the automation of the system of measurement and control of production is approached, in order to identify the main possibilities of the design of an information system capable to integrate the flow of information in an environment internal on manufacturing organizations, with emphasis in the digital manufacturing paradigm.
ABSTRACT. The proposed study is related to the identification of important factors that determine the feasibility of regional airport hubs in São Paulo State, Brazil. This way, new perspectives are created to map airports in this region based on economic criteria of operations and volumes. The study is based on statistical data analysis of time series related to operations and volume of passengers and cargo transport data sets during a fixed period of time. Stochastic volatility models are applied for the logarithmic transformed counting data set considering the four largest airports selected from a group of 32 airports in the São Paulo State chosen by their importance in the amount of passenger and cargo for the period ranging from the year 2008 to the year 2014. This study is a new approach in the analysis of air transport time series.
