La macha (Mesodesma donacium Lamarck 1818), es un recurso marino de importancia socio-económica en la pesquería del litoral sur del Perú, cuya explotación se mantiene a un nivel artesanal y constituye fuente de trabajo eventual para centenares de familias. Entre los moluscos, es la especie que reporta un volumen apreciable de extracción. En el presente trabajo se hace una sinopsis de las nociones que se tienen sobre su biología y pesquería.
La costa peruana se ha visto sometidas desde hace mucho tiempo, especialmente en las últimas 4 décadas, a una fuerte presión por contaminación humana e industrial, lo que ha afectado seriamente a la integridad del ecosistema. En este trabajo se hace una recopilación de información en las costas de Tacna, del nivel que tienen en la actualidad algunos metales pesados (Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb, Mg) en el agua marina, sedimentos y recursos marinos. Por lo tanto, es necesario analizar el estado toxicológico en que se encuentran estos ecosistemas, obteniendo datos actuales del nivel de contaminación por metales pesados a través del análisis de estas zonas marinas, más aún cuando muchos recursos de la zona son utilizados para la alimentación humana. En el Perú, y especialmente en la zona sur, las descargas domésticas y mineras ocasionan mayor contaminación en las aguas receptoras, las primeras por el volumen de sus vertimientos, y las segundas por el vertimiento de sustancias tóxicas.
Existen diversas metodologías para el desarrollo de sistemas orientados a objetos, todos sustentados en principios similares. En el presente trabajo nos apoyaremos en el modelo y metodología OMT (Object Modeling Technique) Rumbaugh et al 1991, uno de las más importantes del área. El desarrollo del proyecto basado en la Metodología OMT está compuesto por tres modelos ortogonales, los cuales sirven para describir en forma completa un sistema. En orden de importancia y desarrollo, los tres modelos son: el modelo de objetos, el modelo dinámico y el modelo funcional. Para el desarrollo del software nos hemos basado en los tres modelos indicados y consiste en tres etapas de desarrollo (Análisis, Diseño e Implementación). Análisis, que muestra los aspectos más importantes del sistema, sin importar la implementación final; el análisis sobre la descripción del problema da lugar a la construcción de los tres modelos: Análisis de Objetos, Análisis Dinámico y Análisis Funcional. El Diseño de Objetos que presenta: Diseño del Sistema y Diseño de Objetos. La Implementación, aquí se traduce el diseño a un lenguaje de programación que en nuestro caso utilizamos el Visual Basic para implementar el prototipo de software de dimensionamiento de instalaciones productoras de frío.
La contaminación del agua subterránea por compuestos orgánicos, representa un potencial problema de salud pública. Los compuestos de benceno, tolueno y xileno (BTX), que son los principales constituyentes de la gasolina, están presentes en aguas subterráneas, debido al derramamiento del hidrocarburo de los tanques de almacenaje. La biorremediación es la técnica más ampliamente utilizada, entre todos los métodos empleados para tratar lechos freáticos contaminados por BTX. El presente trabajo efectúa la modelación de transporte y biodegradación de compuestos BTX en suelo arenoso saturado, empleando los modelos cinéticos de Michaelis Menten y Monod, y hace una comparación entre ambos para situaciones similares, utilizando FEMLAB, [versión 3.1], una herramienta que permite efectuar la simulación y realizar las gráficas según los requerimientos. Los resultados del experimento realizado por Mohammed y Allayla (1996) - que utilizaron un tanque de arena a escala experimental - y los resultados obtenidos en la simulación de los modelos cinéticos de Monod y Michaelis-Menten - empleando software para su modelamiento - consideramos satisfactorios. Al compararse con los resultados propuestos por Mohammed N, Allayla (1996), las curvas obtenidas siguen la misma tendencia, como puede apreciarse en las gráficas que resultaron del presente trabajo.
