Este artigo apresenta análises e reflexões construídas com base nos resultados do Programa de Estudos Educação de Jovens e Adultos em Áreas de Reforma Agrária em Minas Gerais: os processos educativos gestados no Projeto "Educação, Campo e Consciência Cidadã", de maneira que evidencie conquistas, demandas e desafios enfrentados pelos sujeitos da EJA nos processos formativos vivenciados. As análises, ao mesmo tempo em que possibilitam ampliar os olhares sobre esses sujeitos, suas representações, trajetórias, seus processos educativos e aprendizagens, revelam diversas contradições, desafios e demandas que marcam os processos formativos dos educadores de jovens e adultos construídos na interface da Educação do Campo. Dentre eles, destacam-se os desafios enfrentados por eles na dinâmica social e política de suas vidas e que, ao explicitarem tensões e fronteiras da educação formal com a educação não formal, indicam demandas para os processos formativos da EJA em áreas de Reforma Agrária.
O artigo analisa as principais práticas de cura, suas formas de transmissão e aprendizado em uma comunidade rural de Ibirité, Minas Gerais, entre 1940 e 1970. Discute os compartilhamentos e as tensões entre essas práticas e as prescrições realizadas em/por uma escola de formação de professores localizada no município. As principais fontes utilizadas foram depoimentos orais, documentos produzidos nos cursos, relatórios e legislação educacional. Foi possível identificar que a força dos saberes tradicionais estava pautada na crença que a comunidade tinha em relação a eles e em laços de solidariedade nos quais se apoiavam. A prática médica baseada na ciência teve de conviver, negociar e produzir sua legitimidade junto à população, em um jogo de forças, compartilhando e disputando espaços.
As ações desenvolvidas pelo Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Educação de Jovens e Adultos da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais – NEPEJA/FaE/UEMG – têm possibilitado aos seus integrantes refletir acerca do papel social da universidade, em especial da extensão. Tais ações têm nos levado a indagar em que medida os sujeitos da sociedade civil, sobretudo dos movimentos sociais, têm sido incorporados no direito ao acesso e à criação cultural e às pesquisas científicas e tecnológicas produzidas no âmbito da universidade pública, não só como receptores, mas também como participantes e protagonistas. Este texto busca refletir sobre os desafios da indissociabilidade extensão-pesquisa-ensino a partir das experiências dos projetos desenvolvidos pelo NEPEJA e parceiros, sobretudo os projetos vinculados à Educação de Jovens e Adultos do campo. A noção de interface auxiliou na compreensão dos caminhos que o Núcleo vem trilhando nessa busca da indissociabilidade extensão-pesquisa-ensino.
