A geodiversidade é uma área de estudo relativamente nova nas geociências. No Brasil a distribuição geográfica do conhecimento sobre o patrimônio natural é maior nas regiões nordeste, sudeste e sul. Esses locais possuem significativos avanços em termos de estudos, ações integradas com a comunidade e poder público e proposições de geoparques. A realidade desse background é diferente nos estados da Amazônia Legal. Esta é composta por nove estados localizados na região norte, em totalidade, um estado da região nordeste e um da região centro-oeste. Dada essa diferença de conhecimento gerado no país, o objetivo desse artigo foi fazer uma revisão dos trabalhos existentes na Amazônia Legal. Para realizar o estado da arte dos estudos sobre geodiversidade foi feito um levantamento sistemático digital em bases públicas de acesso. Posteriormente os estudos foram catalogados com base no tema central: geodiversidade, geoconservação, geoturismo, e geoparque. Os sub-temas também foram identificados e analisados por meio de gráficos. No total foram analisados 45 trabalhos publicados, sendo 13 no estado do Pará. A geodiversidade é o tema mais pesquisado com 21 trabalhos, seguido do geoturismo. Apesar do tema de geoconservação e geoparque não terem sido muito explorados na literatura existente, na região da Amazônia legal há a proposta de criação de três geoparques pelo Serviço Geológico do Brasil-CPRM, com inventário. A potencialidade da geodiversidade no território da Amazônia legal é ampla, porém ainda incipiente no contexto deste conceito para a valorização do desenvolvimento sustentável via instrumentos de geoconservação e uso para gestão territorial. Há também ausências de parceiras institucionais e práticas incipientes de geoeducação e geoturismo.

Introdução: A geodiversidade compõem todos os elementos do meio físico e é essencial para o conhecimento básico de determinado território. Portanto, a efetiva pesquisa se propôs a discorrer sobre o Parque Estadual do Utinga (PEUt), uma Unidade de Conservação de Proteção Integral de 1.393 hectares, inserido na Área de Proteção Ambiental Metropolitana de Belém (PA) que possui uma rica diversidade faunística e florística. Além disso, essa área delimitada é considerada importante por seus recursos abióticos, como solos e corpos hídricos, e sua criação partiu do pressuposto de conservar seus atrativos naturais que possibilitam a relação de atividades de lazer com a sensibilização ambiental da população. Objetivos: Em decorrência disso, o estudo objetivou tratar a respeito do desenvolvimento de geoeducação como estratégia dentro do PEUt - um ramo da educação ambiental a ser aplicado na geoconservação - promovendo a popularização de conhecimentos da geodiversidade no Parque à população, tornando acessível as informações e despertando o interesse sobre a geodiversidade, sua valorização e a preservação local. Material e Métodos: A metodologia aplicada necessitou analisar a percepção ambiental dos participantes em relação ao PEUt e, posteriormente, elaborar estratégias para conscientizar sobre a importância do geopatrimônio. Dessa forma, foi utilizado materiais educativos desenvolvidos por meio da plataforma Google Forms, visando apresentar os conceitos da geodiversidade e geoeducação. Resultados: De acordo com essa pesquisa, foi possível alcançar de forma on-line 130 pessoas que interagiram com o conteúdo de percepção. Já em relação às estratégias adotadas para difundir conceitos sobre a geodiversidade do PEUt foi realizado um questionário on-line que obteve 76 respostas. Após finalizado o teste, o participante pôde ter acesso às soluções e aos feedbacks sobre os seus resultados, com o intuito de auxiliá-lo a adquirir um maior entendimento sobre essa temática. Conclusão: Destarte, o presente trabalho adequa-se como contribuição para estudos sobre a relevância do conhecimento e da proteção do Patrimônio Natural, em especial ao Parque Estadual do Utinga, haja vista que o mesmo possui grande valor e pode ser usado para diversos fins como culturais e geoturísticos.
As discussões sobre a valorização da geodiversidade têm ganhado destaque no cenário brasileiro e, mais recentemente, na Amazônia. Assim, o presente artigo analisa algumas iniciativas que permitem a reflexão sobre o contexto de discussões que circundam a temática da geodiversidade na Amazônia legal brasileira. Para alcançar o objetivo proposto, os procedimentos metodológicos constaram de: I - levantamento e análise do referencial teórico-metodológico e documental voltados a temática pesquisada; II - levantamento e análise das propostas de criação de geoparques para os estados da Amazônia Legal; III - levantamento e análise dos registros de geossítios e sítios da geodiversidade existentes nas plataformas Comissão Brasileira de Sítios Geológicos (SIGEP) e Cadastro de Sítios Geológicos (GEOSSIT); IV - levantamento de projetos de pesquisa, ensino e extensão voltados às temáticas da geodiversidade, geoconservação, Patrimônio Natural do meio abiótico, geoturismo e geoparque, na Amazônia; e V - tabulação das informações e representação em forma de mapas, tabelas, quadros, fotos e gráficos. Os resultados apontam que a Amazônia encontra-se em fase de amadurecimento conceitual e operacional, com barreiras no que diz respeito a infraestrutura e acesso a muitas áreas e ao fomento a atividades de pesquisa.
