Neste estudo objetivou-se identificar fatores influenciadores e facilitadores no uso do crack e os fatores que dificultam seu abandono. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, envolvendo 20 usuários de crack, desenvolvida em João Pessoa, PB, em 2012. Os dados foram coletados através de formulário semiestruturado e analisados conforme a técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. A facilidade de acesso, curiosidade, influência de pessoas e uso do álcool/maconha se mostraram fatores que influenciam o uso do crack e dificultam seu abandono. Sugere-se ampliamento das ações e do olhar para o fenômeno da drogadição e espera-se contribuir para assistência mais integral, prestada pelo enfermeiro, através dos fatores explicitados neste estudo.
RESUMO: Objetivo: conhecer as concepções que usuários possuem em relação ao crack, bem como as dificuldades encontradas para abandonar o vício. Método: pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória desenvolvida em João Pessoa/PB, em 2012, com 20 usuários de crack. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um formulário semiestruturado e analisados conforme a técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Resultados: evidenciaram-se as seguintes ideias centrais: "sabia que era uma droga que traria prejuízos em todos os sentidos", "faz mal para o organismo", "acesso fácil à droga", "voltar para o mesmo lugar onde mora". Conclusão: a análise das percepções revelou que os usuários concebiam o uso do crack como um feito que traz prejuízos em todos os sentidos de suas vidas. ABSTRAC: Aim: to understand the conception that crack users have in relation to the narcotic, as well as the difficulties in quitting the addiction. Method: qualitative, exploratory research developed in João Pessoa/PB, in 2012, with 20 crack users. Data were collected by a semi-structured form and analyzed according to the Collective Subject Discourse technique. Results: the following core ideas became evident: "i knew it was a drug that would bring losses in every way." "it's bad for the body". "easy access to the drug." "to go back to the same place where he lives." Conclusion: the analysis of the perceptions revealed that crack users were aware of the harms that the addiction brought to them in every possible way.
