Objetivo: Esse trabalho buscou analisar, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, a eficácia da cirurgia bariátrica na remissão do DM2 em pacientes obesos, expondo as diversas técnicas cirúrgicas existentes, bem como suas particularidades e eficiência. Revisão bibliográfica: A obesidade e a diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) são problemas de saúde pública a nível mundial, que demandam gastos elevados para seu tratamento e podem trazer diversos transtornos para a vida do paciente. Na atualidade, a DM2 pode ser tratada de forma medicamentosa e por técnicas cirúrgicas, além de mudanças no estilo de vida. A cirurgia bariátrica vem se mostrando ser a melhor opção, a depender do paciente, na remissão desta doença. Estão disponíveis procedimentos cirúrgicos que resultam na perda de peso e na diminuição considerável do índice glicêmico, alterando a morbidade e prognóstico dessa doença. Considerações finais: Foi possível concluir que a cirurgia bariátrica é mais eficaz do que o tratamento não cirúrgico para DM2, sendo a cirurgia Bypass Gástrico em Y-de-Roux a mais utilizada e com resultados satisfatórios.
Este trabalho relatou as alterações fisiológicas e metabólicas graves que são comumente observadas ao tratar pacientes politraumatizados, as quais culminam na tríade letal do trauma, isto é, coagulopatia, acidose metabólica e hipotermia. Nesse contexto, foram abordados os procedimentos definitivos, ou seja, cirurgia definitiva segura, reconstrução e reabilitação. E os temporários, isto é, intervenções radiológicas, enxerto de stents e o controle de danos. Com isso, ter o êxito de cessar os acometimentos relacionados ao indivíduo politraumatizado, como a tríade letal. Buscou-se, também, evidenciar a importância e os benefícios da utilização do controle de danos em pacientes politraumatizados, cuja técnica é considerada uma inovação significativa em relação aos cuidados desses pacientes, apresentando as situações em que essa abordagem é mais indicada. Esta revisão tem o objetivo de expor as possíveis complicações que podem ser evitadas pela escolha e utilização correta do controle de danos, propiciando, assim, um melhor prognóstico para o paciente.
Objetivo: Revisar a literatura atualizando os principais usos e as perspectivas futuras de células tronco em cirurgia plástica e sua aplicação na restauração estética e funcional de tecidos com defeitos congênitos ou adquiridos. Revisão bibliográfica: Células-tronco, em especial as mesenquimais, são apontadas na literatura com significativo potencial promissor na aplicação da terapia celular, principalmente devido a sua variedade celular e elevada capacidade de autorrenovação e diferenciação, com fonte de obtenção expressiva em tecido subcutâneo e pele, através de procedimentos cirúrgicos. Este material biológico, retirado em procedimentos estéticos em cirurgia plástica, pode ser aproveitado e é eficiente para reconstrução tecidual, como no tratamento de cicatrizes, feridas e fístulas crônicas e reconstruções mamárias. Barreiras a serem enfrentadas envolvem o cuidado com comorbidades do paciente, segurança do material biológico e custos do preparo. Apesar disso, os estudos vêm mostrando perspectivas promissoras de crescente desenvolvimento destas aplicações, dado que a terapia com células-tronco conseguiu promover melhores resultados em questão de estética. Considerações finais: Visando a importância e avanço da medicina regenerativa em cirurgia plástica com o uso de células-tronco, torna-se imprescindível o entendimento da sua prática e utilização terapêutica.
Esse artigo buscou discutir o processo de adaptação à estomia, visando principalmente os aspectos emocionais e sociais envolvidos na vida dos pacientes que possuem a bolsa coletora após passarem por esse procedimento cirúrgico, que pode ser realizado a nível de trato gastrointestinal ou em região de trato urinário, conforme a necessidade. Avaliou-se os impactos em seu meio de convívio social, como os preconceitos e estigmas sofridos, expondo como a realização dos novos cuidados indispensáveis devido a essa modificação no corpo, ou a falta dessa realização, afetará a saúde física e até mesmo psíquica dos indivíduos que necessitam conviver com um estoma, analisando as possíveis repercussões frente a essa situação. O trabalho mostra os cuidados diários dos pacientes com a bolsa coletora, observando o desconforto com o objeto, além da dedicação no cotidiano para a manutenção e higiene da mesma, gerando a necessidade de um autocuidado mais intenso. Esse processo de adaptação à convivência com a alteração corporal descrita é responsável muitas vezes pelo aparecimento de sentimentos negativos, que precisam ser revertidos em um bem-estar para esses indivíduos.
RESUMOO presente trabalho trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de literatura com o objetivo descrever as principais indicações e técnicas utilizadas na cirurgia de reconstrução da face em tumores avançados. As neoplasias de cabeça e pescoço como, por exemplo, os variados tipos de câncer de pele, afetam uma região de grande complexidade do organismo e as cirurgias têm como principal intuito a cura da doença. No entanto, procedimentos de reconstrução facial são de suma importância pois promovem a manutenção da fisiologia e estética do indivíduo, já que a modificação facial pode causar repercussão psicológica por conta da perda de identidade do indivíduo. As técnicas de enxerto e de retalho cirúrgico se mostraram as mais eficazes para reconstrução da face em tumores avançados e suas indicações são determinadas pela necessidade tecidual e óssea, devendo, cada caso, ser avaliado individualmente. Assim, acredita-se que as cirurgias para reconstrução facial estão em constante evolução, visando resultados cada vez melhores incluindo a qualidade de vida dos pacientes.
