Buildings today become complex in terms of structures and advanced technologies. Intelligent buildings are autonomic environment that provide useful services to make occupants lives' more comfortable (e.g. physical security, automatic lighting, thermal comfort, etc…). Smart buildings use IT systems to connect a variety of independent sub-systems, so that these systems can share information to improve total building performance. In this paper, we propose an approach that offers the most relevant services to inhabitants according to the contextual information provided by the physical sensors. The proposed approach considers five parameters to represent the contextual information: the user activity (sleeping, walking, sitting down, …), time(morning, afternoon, night, …) localization ( kitchen, living room,..), temperature(warm, cold, hot, …) , special event (ween end, holidays,..) and activate the most adequate service to be applied in a given context of use.
The governance of information system contributes, among other things, to ensure the governance of compliance for the benefit of corporate governance. The multiplicity and diversity of laws in the field of IT governance place information systems managers of SMEs-SMIs before a problematic of compliance obligation especially that the laws, which are now of international and national order, are subject to change, and sometimes may be antagonistic. The objective of this work is to study the various options for an exhaustive integration of all the laws that deal with governance compliance whether national or international into a comprehensive, cognitive and evolutionary platform. In this paper, we propose the integration of a modular and scalable multi-agent system that allows the laws to evolve within the governance platform.
Internet is not only an information highway, but also a mean to remotely control mechanical systems, such as mobile systems. The Internet limits the quantity of information which can be transmitted and introduces delays which can make the remote control difficult or impossible. The solutions, proposed to face the limitations of the communication channel, are founded on the autonomy and the intelligence based on multi-agents systems granted to the mobile system in order to interact with its environment and to collaborate with the remote user.Interactions play an important role for the coordination and the cooperation of agents in a multi-agents system. In this context, the expression and the management of these interactions constitute significant stakes. In this paper, we propose an abstraction of these interactions where an interaction is regarded as a shared resource separated from the internal architecture of agents and easily reused by them. In a first part, we describe and compare the interaction-oriented approach to the classic one. Then a list of properties is given to show the benefit to consider an interaction, not only as a communication means, but also as an entity shared by all agents and not reserved to some of them. An illustration of our approach is given in a remote control application of two mobile systems using VRML.
By virtue of the multiplicity and diversity of laws regulating the field of information technology governance, those in charge of information systems in SMEs-SMIs are faced with a problematic of compliance obligation, especially that the laws are now of international and national order. This work is concerned with information systems security and the crucial role it plays to ensure an effective governance of information technology (IT). An essential component of internal control imposed by financial security laws as well as by major IT governance frameworks, the security of information systems is one main leverage for a policy of compliance and standardization. Indeed, compliance with laws and regulations with the aim of enhancing the transparency and credibility of the mechanisms of information production and operation needs the implementation of a set of procedures and controls that meet safety requirements in terms of availability, integrity and confidentiality. These procedures introduce major changes with regard, in particular, to information visibility within the business, organizational and management processes, and human resources management.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
