ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Es wird eine Narkosetechnik für den Kaiserschnitt geschildert, die folgende Vorteile bietet: Für das Kind: Das einzige, central depressiv wirkende Narcoticurn ist bei der Abnabelung bereits unwirksam geworden, von kleinen N2O‐Konzentrationen abgesehen. Succinyl passiert in klinischer Dosierung die Placentarschranke nicht. Für die Mutter: Vorteil der intravenosen Narkoseeinleitung mit psychischer Schonung und minimalem Aspirationsrisiko. Rasches Erwachen in sediertem, weitgehend schmerzfreiem, aber geistig völlig klaren Zustand. So gut wie nie postnarkotisches Erbrechen. Keine erhohte Gefahr von Uterusatonien. Nach den bisherigen Beobachtungen kann das Narkoserisiko auch bei Frühgeburten, Gestosen und anderen Gefährdungszuständen für Mutter und Kind auf ein Mindestmass gedrückt werden.
