Die Oxydation von (-)-Linalool mit Persauren fiihrt zu vier isomeren Oxidoalkoholen, von denen zwei eine Tetrahydrofuran-und die beiden anderen eine Tetrahydropyran-Struktur besitzen. Die Konstitution und Konfiguration dieser Oxide wurde geklart.Seit dem Jahre 1908 ist Linalooloxid naturlicher Herkunft bekannt. Chemiker der Fa. SCHIMMEL & Co.1) hatten es aus dem mexikanischen Linaloeol und aus dem 0 1 von Bois de rose Cayenne isoliert und sie erkannten dessen Identitat mit dem ,,Linaloolmonoxyd", das kurze Zeit spater von PRILESCHAJEW 2) synthetisiert wurde. In jungster Zeit wurde, speziell mit Hilfe chromatographischer Verfahren, das Vorkommen von Linalooloxid in mehreren atherischen &en sichergestellt 3-8).
rn Die Synthese des 3.7.7-Trimethyl-bicyclo[3.l.l]heptens-(2) (9), das f~lschlicherweise unter dem Namen Orthoden in die Literatur eingegangen ist, wird beschrieben. hat uns in der Zwischenzeit mitgeteilt, da13 Fujitas ,,Orthoden" als P-Pinen identifiziert wurde. Es ist daher wunschenswert, da8 der Name ,,Orthoden" aus der Literatur gestrichen wird.

Dehydrutisierung von 3.7.7-Trimethyl-bicyclo[3.I.Ilheptanol-(3) (5): 243 g 5 wurden mit40 g KHSO4 vermengt und langsam unter einem Vakuum von 300 mm H g erhitzt. UnterAbspaltung von Wasser destillierten 191 g (88%) eines Gemisches, bestehend aus 74% 9 und 22 10 iiber, welches an einer 70 crn langen Fullkarperkolonne fraktioniert wurde.
