A tolerance of 0.2 ppm, which is less than the sensitivity of the analytical method in certain swine tissue, was established for tylosin in edible animal tissues. Extrapolation of tissue residue data at high feeding levels indicates that the negligible residue level would not be exceeded from feeding tylosin at 100 g/ton, the recommended dosage for swine. Residual tylosin was detected in liver tissue from swine receiving tylosin at 1000 g/ton at 0 hr withdrawal, but no residues above the tolerance were detected in tissues when tylosin was fed at 500, 200, and 100 g/ton.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
