The compounds CaTez05, SrTezOs, and CdT&05 were obtained as mica-like plates by slowly cooling their melts. Dielectric properties were similar to those of mica. Optical and infrared spectra showed appreciable transmittance from 0.33 to 7 pm with a cutoff at 10 pm. The compounds have refractive indices greater than 2. X-ray diffraction studies showed that only the calcium and cadmium compounds are isomorphous; tentative structures, accounting for the marked cleavage, are proposed for these materials on the basis of the geometric distribution of X-ray scattering.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
