A novel approach to generat ing a ch irped microwave waveform with continuously tunable chirp rate using an optically pumped linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG) based on a temporal interferometer is proposed and demonstrated. A theoretical analysis is performed which is verified by an experiment. A linearly chirped microwave waveform with a tunable chirp rate from 79 to 64 GHz/ns by changing the injection current of the pump laser diode (LD) from o to 100 rnA is generated. Index Terms -Temporal interferometry, fiber Bragg grating (FBG), linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG), Er/Yb co doped fiber, chirped microwave waveform generation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
