The scattering characteristics of a doubly periodic array of metallic patches is investigated in this paper from the point of view of detemining the effect of truncating such a screen. The induced surface current on each patch of the array as well as the scattered far-field pattern of the truncated array are computed using the spectralGalerkin method. The usefulness of the results for the truncated screen problem for the design of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) is discussed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
