Symmetrisch substituierte Phthalsaurediamide (4) bilden sich aus Phthalanhydrid ode1 Phthalimiden (1) bei der Umsetzung mit Uberschu5 an prim. Amin (2). Unsymmetrische Phthalsaurediamide (12) entstehen bei der Reaktion von N-Phthalyl-amino-siiureamiden (15,16) mit einem prim. Amin;Verbindungen dieser Art, die nur beim Vorliegen besonderer stmktureller Merkmale stabil zu sein scheinen, werden hier erstmals beschrieben.
Umsetzungen von Phthalimiden 1 mit prim. Aminen 2 ergeben eine unspezifische Acylierungsfähigkeit von 1 (unter ihnen das Phthalimidoglutarimid) gegenüber 2. Als Acylierungsprodukte treten Phthalimide 4 und/oder Phthalamide 5 auf. Dies rechtfertigt die Annahme, daß eine Aminolyse mit biogenen Substraten als Ursache der durch Thalidomid bedingten Schäden in Betracht zu ziehen ist.
Die N‐substituierten Phthalimide (I) und die primären Amine (II) bilden bei Raumtemperatur in verschiedenen Solventien nach Umacylierungsreaktionen die neuen Phthalimide (IV) und die zuvor phthalierten Amine (VII).
