erhitzt und nach dem Erkalten in 500 ccm Wasser gelost. Beim Ansauern schied sich die S t i l b e n -o -c a r b o n s a u r e (Schmp. 158-1600) aus. Extrahierte man nun das Filtrat rnit Ather und verdampfte den Ather, so erhielt man eine farblose, krystallinische Masse, die unseharf gegen Soo schmolz. Man kochte sie unter Zusatz von Calciumcarbonat mit Wasser und engte das Filtrat ein. Die aus dem zuerst ausgeschiedenen Calciumsalz in Freiheit gesetzte Saure erwies sich als identisch mit Benzoesaure. Die aus den1 leichtest loslichen Calciunisalz gewonnene Saure schmolz bei 103~. und eine Mischprobe init reiner o -T o l u y l s a u r e zeigte keine Depression des Schnielzpunktes. Erhitzt man S t i l b e n -o -c a r b o n s a u r e niit A l k a l i genau so wie oben, so erhalt man ein Saure-Gemisch, welches iiber die Calcinmsalze ebenfalls in n e n z o s s a a r e und o -T o l u v l s a u r e getrennt werden kann. Man lost I g 3-Phengl-hydro-isocumarin und I g Atzkali in Alkoliol und verdampft zur Trockne; hierauE erhitzt man den Kiickstand I Stde. auf 2.10-220O und lost ihn danri in Wasser.
