THE FLOW STRESS OF THE FLUX-LINE LATTICE IN TYPE-I1 SUPERCONDUCTORSThe property characterizing the beginning of plastic deformation in the flux-line lattice (FLL) of type-I1 superconductors is the flow stress. The flow stress is determined by the interaction among FLL dislocations and by the interaction between FLL dislocations and crystal defects. Both contributions are calculated by means of the elastic theory of the FLL. The results show that the FLL may be treated approximately as an incompressible fluid.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
