SUMMARY:The pentapeptide L-tyrosyl-L-isoleucyI-glycyl-L-glutamyl-~-phenylalanine has been synthesized and proved to be a monomer in the plastein reaction with pepsin as a catalyst. The molecular weight of the plastein so formed was -2250 as determined by UV spectrophotometry of its DNP-derivative.
SUMMARY:Beads consisting of a three dimensional organic network have been prepared by copolymerizing methyl-methacrylate and some ethyleneglycol-dimethacrylate and swelling the resulting polymer in a suitable solvent, e.g. a mixture of chloroform and cyclohexane (3:l).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
