RESUMOObjetivo: avaliar o manejo das mães no uso do copinho e analisar os aspectos que interferem para administração dessa técnica. Métodos: a amostra foi composta de 30 binômios mãe/bebê. O estudo desenvolvido foi transversal de correlação. Foram realizadas coletas nos prontuários das mães e do bebê, executada uma observação das mães ofertando a dieta no copinho e aplicado um questionário com perguntas sobre o uso do copo. A análise dos resultados foi realizada por meio do programa software estatístico, SPSS 13.0. Aplicou-se testes de estatística descritiva, mais especifi camente a distribuição das freqüências e das percentagens relativas de cada dado observado. Em relação à associação entre as variáveis estudadas foram utilizados os seguintes testes: teste Qui-Quadrado, com nível de signifi cância de 5% (p≤0,05) e o teste de Correlação Bivariada com o grau de correlacionamento linear de Spearman (R), utilizando o nível de signifi cância de 5% (p≤0,05). Resultados: há relação signifi cante da postura do bebê, posição do copo, volume administrado e orientação dos profi ssionais de saúde às mães sobre o uso do copinho. Conclusão: o copinho pode ser manejado pelas mães, mas estas necessitam de orientações sobre o uso da técnica pelos profi ssionais de saúde; principalmente em relação ao cuidado com a posição do copo e volume de leite.
OBJETIVO: Esclarecer a relação das diferenças entre os limiares auditivos das orelhas direita e esquerda com o percentual de erros e acertos na localização de fontes sonoras em ambientes reverberantes. MÉTODOS: Foram examinados 56 voluntários, sendo 33 homens e 23 mulheres, média de idade de 26,6 anos, submetidos aos seguintes testes: otoscopia, audiometria tonal, imitanciometria e emissões otoacústicas. Todos os voluntários apresentaram audição dentro dos padrões de normalidade. Posteriormente, os indivíduos foram submetidos ao teste de localização sonora espacial, onde foram utilizadas ondas quadradas com freqüências fundamentais centradas em 500 Hz, 2000 Hz e 4000 Hz. Os estímulos foram apresentados quinze vezes em cada uma das treze posições espaciais do aparelho utilizado, em cada uma das freqüências escolhidas. Assim, foram apresentados 585 estímulos, no total, por pessoa. RESULTADOS: Na amostra estudada, encontrou-se como resultado, idade entre 18 e 50 anos, média da diferença dos limiares auditivos entre as orelhas de 6,81 dB e percentual de acertos na localização sonora dentro dos padrões normais. A correlação entre as diferenças interaurais e os acertos na localização, no entanto, não foi significativa. CONCLUSÕES: O presente estudo demonstrou que, em pessoas com audição normal, as variações dos limiares auditivos e as diferenças entre as orelhas até 10 dB não interferem na localização de fontes sonoras.
OBJETIVOS: investigar a importância das dimensões anatômicas dos ombros e da cabeça para a localização de fontes sonoras por ouvintes normais, em ambiente reverberante; correlacionar o percentual de acertos na localização sonora com o comprimento e largura da cabeça e o comprimento e largura do ombro e observar a diferença entre as diversas freqüências sonoras apresentadas. MÉTODOS: a amostra foi composta por 52 indivíduos, 20 homens e 32 mulheres, os quais foram submetidos aos testes de otoscopia, audiometria tonal liminar, imitanciometria e emissões otoacústicas. Todos apresentaram audição dentro dos padrões de normalidade. Foram realizadas as medidas de comprimento e largura da cabeça e ombros. Posteriormente, os indivíduos foram submetidos ao teste de localização sonora, nos planos horizontal e vertical, nas freqüências de 500, 2.000 e 4.000 Hz. RESULTADOS: obteve-se correlação significativa (p <0,05) apenas entre a largura dos ombros e os acertos no plano horizontal utilizando-se as freqüências de 2 e 4 kHz. CONCLUSÃO: o percentual de acertos na localização sonora aumenta com o aumento do comprimento dos ombros nas freqüências de 2 e 4 kHz, no plano horizontal.
