Introdução: As resinas compostas em conjunto aos adesivos ortodônticos têm demonstrado maior resistência ao cisalhamento na colagem ortodôntica. Objetivo: avaliar a resistência ao cisalhamento na descolagem de braquetes cerâmicos, e classificar os índices de resina remanescente. Foram utilizados 40 dentes bovinos, nos quais os braquetes cerâmicos monocristalinos Pure® (Ortho Technology, Lutz, Flórida, USA) foram colados com a resina Transbond XT®, (3M ESPE, St Paul, Minnesota, EUA), com diferentes adesivos ortodônticos. Grupo 1: resina e adesivo Transbond XT; grupo 2: resina Transbond XT e adesivo Assure Plus; grupo 3: resina Assure e adesivo Assure Plus; grupo 4: resina Assure e adesivo Transbond XT. Resultado: não foram encontradas diferença estatisticamente significante para os quatro grupos. No padrão de falha, observou-se uma predominância do escore 1, o que demonstra que menos da metade do compósito esteve aderido ao dente. Conclusão: Portanto, deve-se ter cautela na descolagem dos acessórios, para evitar injúrias ao esmalte.
