A presente pesquisa em andamento parte de uma reflexão sobre propostas pedagógicas democráticas e inclusivas, que buscam romper com a hegemonia de um saber supostamente universal e com concepções eurocêntricas de música para trazer à tona a questão da ressignificação da função de objetos fonográficos. Propomos que sejam pensados como materiais didáticos, aliados na busca de uma identidade nacional heterogênea e diversa, abarcando diferentes elementos étnicos e sociais. Através da análise das questões levantadas pelos pesquisadores do grupo modernidade/colonialidade – um dos principais coletivos multidisciplinares do pensamento crítico na América Latina, que nos apresenta diversos conceitos como o mito da formação da modernidade, o de colonialidade, o do racismo epistêmico, a diferença colonial, a transmodernidade, o pensamento liminar, o pensamento de fronteiras, a interculturalidade crítica, a pedagogia decolonial, só para citar alguns – elaboramos uma proposta pedagógica que busca propiciar uma leitura crítica do mundo, construindo junto com os estudantes uma reflexão sobre seu papel na sociedade, diante das estruturas de poder e saber modernas, colonizadoras e eurocêntricas, utilizando os objetos fonográficos como ferramentas para a construção de um saber outro, ligado às realidades dos subalternizados pelo sistema de poder moderno-colonial. Mesmo com conclusões não definitivas, podemos perceber que o fonograma, sendo muitas vezes um recorte descontextualizado da realidade de sua manifestação cultural original, pode ser utilizado pelo educador musical, que, pesquisando o contexto em que o registro foi realizado, o tem como um forte aliado na (re)construção das práticas musicais diversas que poderiam compor uma identidade nacional multiétnica e decolonial.
