This paper is based on statistical analysis of rate of kidney renal failure taking into account that the variables of interest are sex and age group. The nature of the data used herein is secondary data, which was obtained from University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) medical record for consecutive ten (10) years (1998-2007), while monthly reported cases was collected and analyzed. Our present study has been carried out in order to determine whether the effect of renal failure depends on age and sex, and to look at the prevalence of kidney (renal) failure, over the period of study. Appropriate statistical techniques have been used to test the difference of means (ttest) and contingency table (x 2-test), based on the analysis of results. The analysis has been done for significant at 5% level of significance. The empirical results are obtained from the tests of two different means which reveal that there is a significant difference in the prevalent of renal failure between male and female. Resultantly, the impact of kidney renal failure has been focused both on two parameters of age and sex. Finally, some significant suggestions based on our empirical results and observations have also been proposed for preventing kidney renal failure and future scope of present study.
Present paper demonstrates on application aspect of Haar wavelets and method of moments for computing performance characteristics in electromagnetic field. In this paper, some significant results including performance characteristics relevant to application of the Haar wavelets as the expansion function in the method of moments have been successfully explored. The present analysis for performance evaluation has been focused for three different electromagnetic materials-finite straight, thin plane plate and eddy current problem. The main results explored are described in the main text and also concluded at the end with discussions.
Present paper demonstrates mathematical modeling and evaluation of performance measures of k-out of-n repairable system wherein the most influencing constraints of human error and common-cause failure have been taken into consideration. Firstly the mathematical modeling is developed for performance analysis of k-out of-n repairable system with standby units involving human and common-cause failure. Then, a successful attempt has been made to evaluate various important performance measures such as availability of system, steady state availability and mean time of system failure (MTSF), mean operational time(MOT), expected busy period (EBP) and steady state busy period etc. Using the supplementary variable technique, Laplace transforms of various state probabilities are explored. Moreover, a particular case when repair rate follows exponential distribution has also been discussed. In addition, numerical illustration has also been presented in order to enable a better mode for understanding and testing the outcomes explored herein. Finally, tables and graphs for investigated results are displayed for drawing some significant conclusive observations for testing their validity and consistency.
Present paper deals a 1 : ; M M G D queueing model with interdependent controllable arrival and service rates wherein customers arrive in the system according to poisson distribution with two different arrivals rates-slower and faster as per controllable arrival policy. Keeping in view the general trend of interdependent arrival and service processes, it is presumed that random variables of arrival and service processes follow a bivariate poisson distribution and the server provides his services under general discipline of service rule in an infinitely large waiting space. In this paper, our central attention is to explore the probability generating functions using Rouche's theorem in both cases of slower and faster arrival rates of the queueing model taken into consideration; which may be helpful for mathematicians and researchers for establishing significant performance measures of the model. Moreover, for the purpose of highlighting the application aspect of our investigated result, very recently Maurya [1] has derived successfully the expected busy periods of the server in both cases of slower and faster arrival rates, which have also been presented by the end of this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
