The soybean harvested area in Banten Province in 2018 was 23,594 ha with a production of 18,093.6 tons with productivity 0.77 ton/ha, xx. The main center for soybean plants is in Pandeglang Regency with an area of 18,925 ha and production of 14,115 tons. The objectives of this study are: 1) analyzing the performance of soybean farming, 2) analyzing the factors that influence soybean production and, 3) analyzing the level of prices efficiency/allocative of soybean production. The sampling method used purposive random sampling. Data analysis used descriptive tabulation and Cobb Douglas production function. The results of this study were: 1) The cultivated varieties were Anjasmoro (51.7%), Grobogan (44.8%), and Detap (3.5%). Soybean farming income is IDR. 4.038 million/planting season with a B/C ratio of 2.2. 2) Factors that significantly influence soybean production are the amount of use of NPK fertilizer, other fertilizers, liquid pesticides, hired human labor, and the area of cultivated land. 3) It was shown that none of the production factors is inefficient in price (NPMx/Px ≠1). The average value of Price Efficiency is 17.826, which means that the use of production factors is not efficient, it needs to be increased in use.
Banten Province received combine harvester (rice harvesting equipment) assistance since 2015 as many as 25 units. The purpose of this study is: 1) To find out the factors that influence the adoption of combine harvester (CH) in Banten Province, 2) Know the comparison of harvest cost efficiency with the use of CH and human labor. The sampling method used purposive sampling with 123 respondents. The analysis method uses a logistic regression function analysis. The results of this study are: 1) Factors that influence CH adoption are total land area, price of grain harvest, average human labor wage, and grain productivity. 2) The average cost of harvesting with human power is IDR 3,342,403 per ha, 177% higher than that of CH which is IDR 1,204,475 per ha. The number of harvest workers with CH averaged 5.4 work man day (WMD) while the manual method averaged 23.9 WMD (333.3% lower). Suggestions central and local governments need to provide training to improve the CH machine and the rules that prohibit CH from outside the province from participating in harvesting rice in Banten Province.
Banten Province has a harvested area of paddy fields on the 2017 year of 415,687 ha and production of 2,369,731 tons of unhusked rice. The objectives of this study are: 1) Knowing the priority of resources and agricultural inputs use for food production, 2) Knowing the factors that influence the productivity of rice in irrigated land in Banten Province, 3) Knowing the efficiency of the use of production inputs. The sampling method used purposive sampling with 90 respondents. The analytical method used the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and multiple linear regression of Cobb Douglas production functions. The results of the study are: 1) The priority strategy in increasing food production is to increase the use of irrigated rice fields, so that the goal is achieved by increasing the crop index, this can be done by prioritizing the optimization of agricultural machinery 2) Significant factors that affecting the production of paddy rice in the irrigated wetland paddy field in Rainy Season 2017/2018 are the use of urea fertilizer, the amount of use of solid organic fertilizer, the amount of use of human labor rent, and the arable land area, 3). The cumulative elasticity is 1.45, which is elastic, meaning that the addition of 1% of the production factor will increase production by 1.45% or increasing return to scale. So rice farming in irrigated land is relatively efficient. To increase production, it is necessary to increase rice productivity and crop index in irrigated paddy fields. Banten Province on the 2019 year has to harvest area of corn was 66,356 ha with 331,865.38 tons production and the highest production in Pandeglang Regency. The purpose of this study was: 1) Knowing the pattern of corn farming in Banten Province, 2) Knowing the factors of production that affect corn production. 3) Knowing the cost factors that affect the cost of corn production. The analytical method used multiple linear analysis of the Cobb Douglas production and cost function. The results of the study were: 1) The planting pattern of corn was corn-corn - fallow. Dominant varieties were NK-212 (75.8%), Bima (12.1%) and BISI-18 (12.1%). Average productivity in RS 2018/2019 was 3.44 tons of dry shelled ha-1. The B/C ratio is 0.7, it’s mean financially not profitable.2) Factors that significantly affect corn production were: number of seeds, amount of manure, and number of tractors rent, and variety dummy. A cumulative elasticity value of 1.0 means corn farming was efficient. 3) Factors that significantly influence the cost of production were liquid herbicide prices and human labor costs. Increasing corn productivity still needs to be done with the use of proportional farming inputs.
