En el cruce entre los estudios de desigualdad social y digital, este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación finalizada sobre la apropiación de tecnologías digitales (TD) en estudiantes de nivel medio de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA). Las estrategias por clase de movilidad social son las que teóricamente se suman al desarrollo del concepto de brecha digital y apropiación para analizar la acumulación de capital digital en esta población a partir de la clase de origen de los individuos.
En primer lugar este trabajo presenta una tipología sobre las apropiaciones juveniles, marcando los destinos esperables a partir de las trayectorias de apropiación digital por clase social. En segundo lugar se presentan los casos disidentes en los que jóvenes de diferentes clases sociales se han apropiado de TD de forma “inesperada”, es decir, dando cuenta una trayectoria con destinos diferentes a otros jóvenes de la misma clase social a partir de la influencia de andamiajes digitales. Estos andamiajes serán fuente de reflexión ya que posibilitan el cambio de trayectorias y la movilidad social y digital, pudiendo ser otros individuos e incluso políticas públicas.
La pandemia por COVID-19 ha generado transformaciones en el ámbito educativo, obligando ante la situación de emergencia y aislamiento preventivo la impartición de clases de manera virtual. Esta nueva modalidad no solo generó nuevas desigualdades educativas que se suman a desigualdades preexistentes, sino que también reconfiguró las relaciones interpersonales de los estudiantes en torno al proceso de aprendizaje. El objetivo de este artículo es indagar la sociabilización de los estudiantes de Comunicación de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y la Universidad General Sarmiento a partir de las desigualdades sociales y digitales durante el período de cursada virtual. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa, a partir de entrevistas en profundidad, focalizadas en la tecnobiografía de los estudiantes y sus experiencias en las clases virtuales.
Este trabajo analiza la herencia digital a partir de las trayectorias de apropiación de tecnologías digitales en estudiantes de escuelas medias de gestión pública de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. La pregunta doble que guía esta investigación es: ¿qué modos de apropiación se presentan en los jóvenes de clase trabajadora y de servicios y cuáles son sus características? A partir del concepto de apropiación, se analizan las trayectorias de los jóvenes desde la clase de origen y la perspectiva analítica de los estudios de la tercera brecha digital. Al combinar ambos campos de estudio, no solo se realiza una comparación entre clases, sino también se profundiza en los sentidos de dichas prácticas que los jóvenes tienen a partir de su posición en la estructura social. El análisis se centra en las estrategias de reproducción social y digital desplegadas por los jóvenes en los procesos de apropiación en relación con sus objetivos individuales, y en examinar en qué medida estos están constreñidos (o no) por sus chances de vida. Este trabajo utiliza una metodología de carácter cuantitativa, a partir de la “Encuesta Jóvenes y Tecnología 2018-2019”, y cualitativa, a partir del análisis de entrevistas realizadas a jóvenes estudiantes de escuelas medias de gestión pública de Buenos Aires.
Este trabajo analiza las desigualdades digitales de género en relación a la tecnología entre estudiantes de nivel medio de escuelas de gestión pública de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires en el período 2018 – 2020.
La primera distinción entre varones y mujeres que se observó en el trabajo de campo se dio a partir de la apropiación de consolas de videojuegos, y a partir de los juegos divididos en juegos para nenas y para nenes. A partir de la exclusión de las mujeres del mundo de los videojuegos se generan desigualdades en la autopercepción del saber en torno a la tecnología y en la posibilidad de participar del campo digital.
Estas desigualdades son rastreadas en la presente investigación bajo una metodología mixta, a partir una encuesta propia y entrevistas en profundidad.
