A perda do glóbulo ocular pode causar danos a autoestima e convívio social de pacientes, além de atresia na musculatura afetada. Este artigo visa relatar a reabilitação por prótese ocular de um paciente anoftálmico. Paciente gênero masculino, 54 anos, procurou o Centro de Especialidades Odontológicas da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas relatando insatisfação estética após perda do globo ocular. Na anamnese relatou que perdeu o globo ocular esquerdo por infecção bacteriana e não tinha problemas sistêmicos que comprometesse o tratamento. Ao exame extra oral foi verificado assimetria facial na região ocular. Iniciou-se a confecção da prótese ocular com moldagem da cavidade utilizando-se alginato. O molde obtido foi incluído em gesso e foi obtido um padrão em cera da cavidade, que foi provado e ajustado no paciente. Foi realizada a pintura da íris protética e esta, foi adicionada ao modelo em cera que foi incluído em mufla com gesso. Após remoção da cera foi adicionado resina acrílica branca termopolimerizável, a mufla foi fechada e prensada. Depois da remoção da prótese em resina da mufla foi realizada a caracterização com pigmentos coloridos e uma nova prensagem, dessa vez com resina acrílica termopolimerizável incolor. Após a presa foi realizado acabamento, polimento e instalação da prótese. Foram realizadas duas sessões de proservação onde o paciente relatou boa adaptação e satisfação com o resultado estético. Concluiu-se que a prótese ocular restabeleceu a estética facial e o suporte palpebral do paciente, proporcionando sua reinserção no convívio social e melhora da autoestima.
