As técnicas aplicadas às exodontias, sobretudo em dentes inclusos, são diversas e podem confundir o cirurgião dentista sobre qual seria a mais indicada. Os fatores que justificam a escolha por esse procedimento estão relacionados à diversidade de instrumentos e de técnicas e à afinidade e conhecimento do cirurgião dentista, além da associação da técnica com a complexidade de cada caso. Diante disso, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo relatar uma abordagem cirúrgica em um paciente do sexo masculino, de 18 anos de idade, com presença do dente supranumerário incluso com proximidade com os ápices radiculares dos dentes 12 e 13, realizando exodontia do elemento supranumerário e biópsia excisional da lesão. Concluiu-se que, para casos de supranumerário impactado, há a impossibilidade de aproveitamento do elemento, como a ausência de espaço, e da formação de cistos e tumores, optando-se pela extração para facilitar o tratamento ortodôntico e manter a saúde periodontal e a harmonia oclusal dos dentes adjacentes.
O cisto odontogênico glandular (COG) é um cisto raro que foi descrito inicialmente por Padayache;Van Wykem1 (1987), sob o termo cisto “sialo-odontogênico”. Os COGs são estabelecidos como depressões patológicas cobertos por epitélio, capazes de conter em seu seio material líquido ou semilíquido. O objetivo do artigo é relatar uma biópsia excisional de um cisto odontogênico na região da mandíbula. Paciente do gênero feminino, 50 anos de idade, com lesão extensa na região anterior da mandíbula. A tomografia computadorizada apresentou uma extensa lesão hipodensa ao redor do elemento 34. De acordo com a hipótese diagnóstica de cisto radicular, foi realizada biópsia excisional. O resultado do exame histopatológico teve como diagnóstico cisto glandular odontogênico. A literatura carece de informações a respeito desse cisto, necessitando de investigações técnicas de aprimoramento no diagnóstico diferencial e tratamento
The interdisciplinary performance between the specialties of Sports Dentistry with Radiology aided by technology makes possible to perfect and optimize the manufacture of facial protectors. This case report aims to show a case of making a face shield for an athlete after fracturing the nasal pyramid with the aid of digital flow. It was concluded that the facial protector was an effective device to protect the athlete’s face who has recently suffered an orofacial injury. The protector prevents the bone from undergoing refracture or displacement and allows the athlete not to be temporarily stay away of sports practing.
