A new species of the genus Carica , found in forests in southeast Ecuador, is described. Carica palandensis Badillo, Van den Eynden & Van Damme is clearly distinguished from all other Car¬ ica species hy its always compound leaves with 5to 9-petiolulate leaflets.Rksumen.
