The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of consumer service on loyalty in retail establishments. Based on a theoretical discussion regarding the relationship between waiting time, product quality, store atmosphere and loyalty, an empirical research was conducted to test the proposed relationships. Multiple‐item indicators from previous studies were used to measure the constructs. Results from the study provide empirical support, suggesting that consumer service through three dimensions influences loyalty. Research results suggest that consumer service in retail establishments can be viewed as a threshold factor in order to maintain satisfied and loyal customers. Additionally, managers should consider that loyalty depends on waiting time, product quality and store atmosphere. The present study provides useful information on the relationship between consumer service and loyalty in retailing.
This article's objective is to study the influence of a new hybrid format in the retail distribution sector and this emerging market context is defined as competitive convergence. To attain this objective, 1150 surveys of retail distribution professionals were conducted. These surveys aid in distinguishing retail formats and indicate their competitive position allowing us to generate positioning maps of the Spanish retailing. In addition, Cramer's coefficient V was used as an association measure between qualitative variables and latent class analysis (LCA) modelling was used to build a segmentation analysis of the competing offer. This analysis shows how retail formats evolve and adapt their competitive variables, even adopting characteristics from different formats (competitive convergence). Supermarkets dominate the Spanish retailing and a hybrid retail format's better competitive position in aspects commonly associated with other formats supports. Spanish retailing provides an example of the non-static nature of retail formats and business models.

C-100 Basin is a 40.6 square mile (105 km 2) area in southern Miami-Dade County (Florida) with an approximate elevation range of 5 to 15 ft (1.5 to 4.6 m) NGVD. The basin is an urbanized area of the county, with a western boundary only a few miles from the Florida Everglades, and it drains eastward to Biscayne Bay through the C-100 canal and its tributary canals. There are three control structures in the basin which maintain groundwater levels, provide flood relief, and prevent saltwater intrusion from the bay. Development in South Miami-Dade County (including the C-100 Basin) has heightened concerns about the impact of stormwater runoff on the quality and quantity of water discharged into Biscayne National Park via the canals in these areas. The primary objective of this planning effort is to improve the quality, quantity and periodicity of freshwater discharges to, and prevent degradation of, Biscayne National Park. Parts II and III of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requires implementation of a comprehensive Stormwater Management Master Plan for Miami-Dade County to provide pollutant load reduction and water quantity control by the construction/retrofitting of stormwater management systems.
