Las malformaciones congénitas pulmonares son una entidad rara en pediatría. Entre ellas, la malformación adenomatoidea quística pulmonar es la entidad más frecuente, seguida del secuestro pulmonar y del quiste broncogénico. Con la ecografía de alta definición y la resonancia magnética fetal, se pueden diagnosticar estas entidades de forma precoz en la etapa prenatal. Para conocer la clínica, el diagnóstico y la evolución se ha realizado un estudio retrospectivo de esta malformación. Se presentaron cinco casos clínicos de malformación adenomatoidea pulmonar, tres de ellos de diagnóstico precoz: el primero con evolución a tumor maligno, el segundo con un secuestro pulmonar accesorio extralobar y el tercero con diagnóstico erróneo de malformación adenomatoidea quística. Los otros dos casos asociados a la malformación adenomatoidea quística, mostraron un secuestro pulmonar basado en la importancia del diagnóstico precoz de las anomalías congénitas en la etapa prenatal. Esta malformación es una enfermedad congénita pulmonar, cuya valoración prenatal se realiza eficazmente por medio de la técnica ultrasonográfica y resonancia magnética fetal. Se presenta cuadro clínico con variables y características específicas radiológicas facilitando un diagnóstico precoz para evitar complicaciones.
La Neurocisticercosis es causada por la forma larvaria de la Taenia solium (tenia del cerdo), esta se adquiere cuando la persona ingiere los huevecillos por alimentos con carne de cerdo mal cocinada, estas larvas se evaginan en el intestino delgado, el escólex se adhiere a la pared intestinal y el cuerpo del parásito comienza a crecer, provocando una inflamación en la zona de implantación. Este estudio de caso presenta un paciente que ingresa por consulta, con cuadro clínico de aproximadamente una semana de evolución caracterizado con parestesia esporádica del lado derecho, consciente, hipotenso y bradicárdico. Sin antecedentes patológicos familiares. Se le realiza Tomografía y Resonancia Magnética para conocer origen etiológico de la parestesia, diagnosticándosele Neurocisticercosis. Los diferentes métodos de imagen permiten detectar las manifestaciones, siendo útiles en el diagnóstico, seguimiento a largo plazo y detección de sus posibles complicaciones.
La Artritis Séptica Destructiva en la actualidad es una patología que se ha considerado una de las formas más peligrosas de artritis y que termina convirtiéndose en una emergencia médica, por el alto porcentaje de morbimortalidad que origina. Debido a su incidencia en edades extremas de la vida y a la alta tasa de resistencia a la antibioticoterapia resulta un reto para el gremio médico. Dentro de los factores de riesgo más frecuentes se encuentra, el bajo nivel socioeconómico y los traumatismos previos al tipo contusión. Este estudio de caso, presenta una paciente que acude a emergencia por dolor a nivel articular del hombro, impotencia funcional y signos flogísticos localizados, lo cual se diagnostica como artritis séptica destructiva en estado avanzado. Se utiliza la resonancia magnética como método de diagnóstico óptimo, debido a su alta sensibilidad para identificar el sistema músculo esquelético de la articulación afectada, permitiendo un diagnóstico precoz y evitar futuras complicaciones. El objetivo de este estudio, es dar a conocer los métodos utilizados en un diagnóstico óptimo de acuerdo con la presentación de las manifestaciones de un paciente con artritis séptica.
