El fibrosarcoma ameloblástico es un tumor odontogénico raro, compuesto por epitelio benigno y tejido mesenquimal maligno que semeja a un fibrosarcoma. Se considera que es la contraparte maligna del fibrosarcoma ameloblástico. Aun cuando los cambios histológicos son claramentemalignos, este tumor rara vez produce metástasis, pero su crecimiento progresivo es infiltrante y destruye los tejidos adyacentes pudiendo llegar hasta la base del cráneo. En este trabajo se presenta un caso de fibrosarcoma ameloblástico desarrollado en la mandíbula derecha de unamujer joven de 19 años de edad. Las características clínicas, radiográficas y sintomatología de la lesión, correspondían a un tumor odontogénico benigno e igualmente en el estudio histológico se podía identificar una capsula fibrosa bien definida. Sin embargo, el tejido dentro de la cápsulamostraba cambios mesenquimales francamente malignos. El tratamiento consistió en la extirpación de la hemimandíbula complementado con radiaciones. El seguimiento después de 5,3 años mostró que la paciente se encontraba libre de enfermedad.
El quiste residual es el resultado de un tejido inflamatorio periapical remanente producto de una extracción dental sin un curetaje minucioso. Mayormente afecta a los varones y a la maxila. Su diagnóstico depende de los hallazgos del examen clínico, radiográfico e histopatológico. El presente caso tiene como objetivo reportar el caso de un quiste residual en la región anterior de la maxila de la cavidad oral de un paciente adulto del Centro Dental Docente Cayetano Heredia con antecedente de extracciones dentales en el área de la lesión hace 10 meses. Se realizó una enucleación y se tomó una muestra para el examen anatomopatológico, el cual posteriormente confirmó el diagnóstico de quiste residual.
Se reporta el caso de una paciente mujer de 14 años de edad que presentaba una lesión asintomática de apariencia tumoral ubicada en la zona de la articulación témporo mandibular derecha. Durante la apertura bucal había desviación de la mandíbula hacia el mismo lado. El estudio imaginológico mediante radiografía panorámica, tomografía espiral multicorte y angiografía, fue determinante para plantear el diagnóstico de Quiste Óseo Aneurismático. Este es un tipo de pseudoquiste de los maxilares. Se discuten los aspectos clínicos, imaginológicos, anátomo-patológicos y el tratamiento de esta entidad. De la revisión de la literatura se concluye que es una lesión muy rara a nivel del cóndilo, no tiene una apariencia radiográfica patognomónica y puede confundirse con varias otras entidades que ocurren en esta zona anatómica. El estudio imaginológico cuidadoso y la punción aspiración fueron elementos importantes para el diagnóstico y por lo tanto para el correcto tratamiento.
Los tumores odontogénicos híbridos están compuestos por más de un tipo histológico y sonextremadamente raros. Se presenta un caso en una paciente mujer de 24 años de edad con untumor mandibular que histológicamente correspondió a un Tumor Odontogénico QuísticoCalcificante compuesto por una parte quística y una sólida, ademas se encontró odontomacomplejo y focos de ameloblastoma folicular. Se discute el caso desde el punto del diagnósticoclínico, radiográfico e histopatológico, así como los resultados de un tratamiento conservador.Se enfatiza la importancia de obtener biopsias representativas de una lesión que radiográficamentemuestre imagen radiolúcida con áreas radiopacas para establecer el diagnóstico definitivo.
Objetivo: Evaluar las características de la transposición dental en radiografías panorámicas digitales de pacientes pediátricos. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio de diseño transversal, descriptivo y retrospectivo con un total de 2386 radiografías panorámicas digitales de pacientes entre 6 y 17 años de edad, atendidos en el centro dental docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (sede central) durante los años 2015 a 2018. Resultados: La frecuencia de transposición dental fue de 0.96%, presentándose en un 52.17% en el sexo femenino; las transposiciones dentales completas fueron las más frecuentes con un 96.55%. Respecto a la localización, 51.72% se presentó en el cuadrante superior derecho y el 48.28% en el cuadrante superior izquierdo, siendo la transposición de caninos maxilares con premolares la más frecuente con un 82.76%. Conclusión: La frecuencia de transposición dental fue baja, se presentó en mayor número como transposiciones dentales completas, todas se ubicaron en el maxilar superior con una predilección por el lado derecho. Se involucraron con una mayor frecuencia al canino maxilar y primer premolar y hubo predominio en el sexo femenino.
