Fluid resuscitation with either large-volume LR solution or small-volume HSD, during uncontrolled hemorrhage from intra-abdominal vascular injury, produced hemodynamic and metabolic benefits, without additional blood loss, whereas no fluid resuscitation was associated with sustained low cardiac output and hypotension.
