Este artigo busca compreender discussões epistemológicas que contribuem para a conexão dos saberes formais e dos saberes da tradição, a partir da formação de professores em espaços não formais no ensino de ciências na Amazônia paraense, haja vista que este espaço é rico em sociobiodiversidade e visa um olhar mais sistêmico sobre o contexto educacional. A pesquisa aborda uma natureza bibliográfica que combina as visões de Morin (2001), Santos (2007), Silva (2010) e Almeida (2017), os quais trabalham com a urgência de conhecer o sujeito e o contexto em sua complexidade inerente, além de discutir uma formação holística de professores na ótica de Nóvoa (1994) e Imbernón (2011). Portanto, observar o ensino das ciências a partir dos saberes da tradição permite romper com a visão padronizada da ciência, o que constitui um marco importante nos cursos de formação de professores em vista de outros olhares aos espaços não formais de ensino.
