La gestion des risques psychosociaux (RPS) est reconnue comme une gestion d’événements spécifiques pouvant entraîner des maladies professionnelles ayant des effets visibles comme le stress, la dépression, le suicide, ..., et matérialisés par des indicateurs potentiels d’occurrence (le niveau d’absentéisme, le nombre de conflits interpersonnels, ...). Sous l’influence d’approches cliniques et managériales une grande partie des travaux de recherche sur la gestion des RPS occultent la nature de ces situations organisationnelles à risques. Les effets des situations à risques sont, en effet, difficiles à objectiver par les acteurs car l’action et la construction des représentations s’élaborent dans le même temps... et, malheureusement souvent quand il est déjà trop tard. Notre réflexion par nature théorique est fondée sur un constat : l’approche mécaniste des situations organisationnelles dans lesquelles émergeraient des RPS repose sur une représentation incomplète des risques qui annihile les actions courantes de prévention et de protection des acteurs contre leurs effets. Notre proposition est donc structurée par les apports de la littérature du management des risques : l’analyse de la vie normale et routinière des organisations, des représentations des risques, des phénomènes visibles mais aussi invisibles aux yeux des acteurs. En proposant un cadre d’analyse à la gestion des RPS que nous confrontons à des travaux institutionnels européens et à la présentation d’un cas d’entreprise, nous ouvrons de nouvelles perspectives dans le champ des RPS.
