Analisam-se aspectos da situação econômica brasileira de abril/2002 a maio/2003, da campanha presidencial, com intensas turbulências, ao grande otimismo nos primeiros meses do governo Lula. Manchetes de jornal e indicadores econômicos são examinados à luz da teoria do pensar, introduzindo-se também a psicologia econômica. Questiona-se a objetividade das informações econômicas veiculadas pela mídia e seu poder de influência sobre a percepção de risco imediato, em detrimento do desempenho econômico real. Tais inconsistências são discutidas com base nas concepções psicanalíticas sobre emoções presentes na percepção e interpretação dos fenômenos socioeconômicos, devido à sua importância para o comportamento econômico.
This chapter examines an intersection between the areas of financial education and economic psychology. The objective is to discuss the importance of dialogue between them, based on material produced by organizations and countries considered benchmarks in financial education, such as the OECD – Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United Kingdom, Australia and others, along with data collected over a 27-year trajectory in the area of economic psychology and, over the past 15 years, in efforts and analyses dedicated to financial education.
