Ten new fluorine-containing 1-thiocarbamoyl-3,5-diphenyl-2-pyrazolines 4a-j have been synthesized in 80-85% yield by a microwave-promoted solvent-free condensation of 2,4-dichloro-5-fluoro chalcones 3a-j with thiosemicarbazide over potassium carbonate. The work-up is simple and involves treatment with ice-cold water. A considerable increase in the reaction rate has been observed, with better yields.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
