The stormy development of technologies today gives its influence in the field of education. In the high and higher education the technology connected students of the digital generation are ready and wait the information and communication technologies to be included not only in their everyday life but in the process of education too. The article analyzes the Augmented Reality (AR) and its possibilities about development of training materials and its implementation in the higher education. The technological aspects in developing interactive educational content with added reality and different uses of this modern technology are studied. The development of training materials which correspond to the visually kinetic style of learning of students from the digital generation is the main aim of the use of AR in thee higher education. The paper presents specific possibilities for apply of AR in education in the fields of Mechanical and Fashion Engineering in the Faculty of Technics and Technologies.
The goal of this research is the analysis of two dimensional images of embroidery elements and the development of techniques for shape and color segmentation in the automation of embroidery designs. A document camera is used as a tool for obtaining of color digital images of embroidery elements from Bulgarian national folk costume. Also are devised some techniques for color restoration of elements and their skeletons. Files for embroidery machines are described and obtained then the results are checked with commercial software. A website is created for presentation of the results of this work.
Augmented reality is a modern technology that can be used in universities, providing conditions for learning in an interactive virtual environment and achieving a high level of visualization through the means preferred by today’s digital students. AR creates conditions for easier and more accessible studying of the taught material, acquiring more knowledge in a short time, developing creative thinking of the students. AR application can increase the quality of education. In the engineering disciplines is of great importance to view the studied objects from all sides. Instead of multiple 2D images, in the textbooks could be used markers for generating AR with an interactive 3D models, providing full visualization. Students can use their mobile devices for 3D visualization of the considered objects, which makes AR easily accessible. The aim of the research is to develop topics from a textbook on “Design and modelling of women’s dresses in different silhouettes” for students majoring in “Design, technology and management of the fashion industry” using augmented reality (AR).
Building modern Internet of Things (IoT) systems is associated with a number of challenges. One of the most significant among them is the need for wireless technology, which will serve to build connectivity between the individual components of this technology. In the larger cities of Bulgaria, measures to ensure low levels of harmful emissions, reduce noise levels, and ensure comfort in urban environments have been taken. LoRa technology shows more advantages in transmission distance and low energy consumption compared to other technologies. That is why this technology was chosen for the design of wireless sensor networks (WSN) for six cities in Bulgaria. These networks have the potential to be used in IoT configurations. Appropriate modules and devices for building WSN for cities in Bulgaria have been selected. It has been found that the greater number of nodes in the WSN leads to an increase in the average power consumed in the network. On the other hand, depending on the location of these nodes, the energy consumed may decrease. The performance of wireless sensor networks can be optimized by applying appropriate routing protocols, which are proposed in the available literature. The methodology for energy efficiency analysis of WSN can be used in the design of wireless sensor networks to determine the parameters of the environment, with the possibility of application in IoT.
The rapid development of science, technology, and information technologies in various sectors of the economy imposes increased requirements and expectations in the preparation of engineering professionals in higher education. In recent years, there have been some difficulties in engineering and technology training related to the assimilation of the methodology for constructive thinking, the development of clear and precise knowledge structuring, improvement of the ability of expressing thoughts, and graphical presentation of information. This article presents some applications and best practices in the use of e-learning systems, interactive boards, and accessories. The application of active teaching methods and use of information technologies with interactive tools, providing active involvement of the students in training, leads to considerable interest and improvement in the quality of teaching and learning.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
