The paper presents the design and operating characteristics of a model of reversible axial fan with only one impeller, whose reversibility is achieved by changing the direction of rotation. The fan is designed for the purpose of providing alternating air circulation in wood dryers in order to reduce the consumption of electricity for the fan and increase energy efficiency of the entire dryer. To satisfy the reversibility of flow, the shape of the blade profile is symmetrical along the longitudinal and transversal axes of the profile. The fan is designed with equal specific work of all elementary stages, using the method of lift forces. The impeller blades have straight mean line profiles. The shape of the blade profile was adopted after the numerical simulations were carried out and high efficiency was achieved. Based on the calculation and conducted numerical simulations, a physical model of the fan was created and tested on a standard test rig, with air loading at the suction side of the fan. The operating characteristics are shown for different blade angles. The obtained maximum efficiency was around 0.65, which represents a rather high value for axial fans with straight profile blades
This paper deals with energy audit procedure implemented on only Serbian car manufacturer 'Zastava Automobili'. Based on the results of energy auditing and performed technological and economical feasibility studies several energy saving measures were proposed. The measures are related to different energy sources: steam, hot water, compressed air, electricity, and water. Such energy efficiency programs reduce energy costs and increase production profitability of the factory.
The food industry uses a considerable amount of energy and that amount has been constantly growing with further developments in the sector. The growth of the milk processing industries with the production of dairy products has followed the trends in the food industry in general. The authors made a systematization of the literature data on the most common energy efficiency opportunities (measures) in diaries. Authors also present a methodology for conducting an energy audit in dairies based on ISO 50002 which includes a multi-criteria analysis for ranking energy efficiency opportunities. The proposed methodology was applied to a case study dairy in central Serbia. Taking into account interactions between opportunities, implementation of the proposed energy saving opportunities can ensure 11-15% energy savings for electricity and 20-23% of heat energy annually.
Until recent times, energy management practices primarily consisted in replacing inefficient equipment and then using any number of methods to estimate obtained savings. Experience shows that positive effects of energy efficient improvements were decreased over time. There have been significant efforts over the last decade to define appropriate standards and best practices and implement the consistent energy management system to increase and maintain the energy savings. The knowledge gained from thousands of energy efficient projects is driving a transition from traditional tactical practice (one-time "build and forget" projects) to energy management strategies proposed and endorsed by a number of international organizations. The current status of internationally developed energy management standards, including an analysis of their shared features and differences is presented in this paper. The purpose of the analysis is to describe the current state of ?best practices? for this emerging area of energy efficiency policymaking in order to study the possibility of implementation of energy management standards in Serbia and to estimate the effects and the potential for energy saving that would be made by its implementation.
