Introdução: O cateterismo cardíaco é um procedimento que pode ser utilizado para diagnosticar ou tratar doenças cardíacas, que consiste na introdução de um catéter, que é um tubo flexível extremamente fino, na artéria do braço, ou da perna, até o coração. A angioplastia coronária é um procedimento médico minimamente invasivo para desobstrução das artérias coronárias, restabelecendo a passagem normal do sangue. Objetivo: Portanto, este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a assistência de enfermagem no procedimento de retirada do introdutor pós-cateterismo e angioplastia coronária por meio da literatura nacional e internacional publicada nos últimos dez anos. Metodologia: Este estudo caracteriza-se como revisão bibliográfica de abordagem qualitativa, de caráter exploratório acerca da assistência de enfermagem no procedimento de retirada do introdutor pós-cateterismo e angioplastia coronária. Como critério de inclusão foram selecionados os artigos de relevância relacionado ao tema, disponibilizados com o texto completo e gratuito e serão considerados todos os artigos científicos com até dez (10) anos de publicação na língua portuguesa e inglesa, utilizadas as bases de dados confiáveis como Scielo, Lilacs e PubMed. Como critérios de exclusão foram removidos estudos não pertinentes ao tema e os artigos realizados fora do Brasil. Resultados e Discussão: Diante dos artigos analisados, os estudos mostram que o enfermeiro tem papel fundamental na equipe de hemodinâmica, garantindo a segurança na retirada do introdutor arterial com segurança garantida ao paciente. Importante, porém, protocolizar e dispor a informação para a equipe de enfermagem contribuindo para autonomia do enfermeiro e segurança do paciente. Portanto, estudos sugerem que o procedimento realizado por profissional de enfermagem especializado, devidamente treinado, é seguro e eficaz, sem complicações para os pacientes. Considerações finais: Entretanto, conclui-se que este procedimento pode ser realizado com sucesso por profissional de enfermagem em uma unidade hemodinâmica. Estudos sugerem que o procedimento realizado por profissional de enfermagem especializado, devidamente treinado, é seguro e eficaz, sem complicações para os pacientes.
