This paper analysis the distribution of some characteristics of computer scientists in Brazil according to regions and gender. Computer scientist is defined as the faculty of a graduate level computer science department. Under this definition, there were 886 computer scientists in Brazil in November 2006.
RESUMOProjetar material instrucional para Web é uma tarefa difícil para professores que não têm experiência em pedagogia e projeto instrucional Web. Padrões surgiram como uma forma de capturar conhecimento de projeto em um contexto e apresentar soluções para os projetistas. Neste trabalho apresenta-se a ferramenta Cognitor que instancia um framework baseado na Linguagem de Padrões Cog-Learn. Pretende-se fornecer apoio aos professores durante o projeto e edição de objetos de aprendizagem no formato SCORM para sistemas de EAD com o objetivo de melhor organizar o conteúdo na interface visualizada pelo aluno, facilitando a sua interação e, conseqüentemente, facilitando o seu processo de aprendizagem.
Designers podem selecionar mídia a partir de tags geradas por usuários em redes sociais, para melhorar seu design com o objetivo de evocar determinadas emoções. No entanto, eles podem confiar nas classificações realizadas? Será que os usuários sentem as mesmas emoções que aquelas associadas à mídia? Este trabalho tem como objetivo auxiliar a tomada de decisão de designers, explorando as emoções de observadores em imagens classificadas por tags. Um estudo empírico online foi realizado com 410 voluntários, que classificaram imagens do Flickr que tinham sido relacionadas pelos usuários da plataforma às cinco emoções básicas e à tag “neutro”. Os resultados sugerem que existem diferenças entre tags e emoções sentidas por este grupo de pessoas em emoções específicas. Por outro lado, as descobertas indicam que a seleção de imagens para nojo e raiva precisam de critério adicional.
Neste artigo, sintetiza-se resultados de uma atividade de co-criação de jogos digitais inclusivos baseados em storytelling apoiada por um framework e realizada por usuários com diferentes necessidades de interação de um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas. As atividades foram supervisionadas por profissionais do Centro e apoiados por colaboradores (áreas de Computação e Enfermagem). Participantes co-criaram jogos de acordo com suas habilidades, acrescentando recursos para que todos os seus colegas pudessem jogá-los. Como comunidades, os participantes criaram jogos e inclusão. Como indivíduos, observou-se melhorias de auto-estima e confiança.
