O objetivo do estudo trata-se de identificar a relevância da nutrição no processo de cicatrização de feridas em pacientes diabéticos e sua assistência tópica. O presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, que consiste em abordagens metodológicas. Foi realizada no período de dezembro de 2022, as bases de dados utilizadas foram as Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde e Base de Dados em Enfermagem, utilizando os Descritores de Ciências em Saúde, sendo eles “Alimentação, Dieta e Nutrição”, “Cicatrização” e “Diabetes Mellitus”. Em seguida, foi selecionado o quantitativo de 8 artigos para compor o corpus de análise de artigos elegíveis. Estudos concluíram que as concentrações de seus nutrientes estudados se correlacionavam com a cicatrização ou que os suplementos melhoravam a cicatrização de úlceras nos pés. Ou seja, uma melhor compreensão do mecanismo de ação de suplementos nutricionais pode contribuir para futuros protocolos e diretrizes para o tratamento da ulceração do pé, com a finalidade de acrescentar na assistência a ferida de modo integrado, considerando a alimentação, suplementação mais os cuidados tópicos específicos. A associação entre o estado nutricional do paciente portador de lesão periférica influencia diretamente nos agravos e tratamento das lesões, dessa forma, o olhar clínico para possíveis deficiências nutricionais e marcadores inflamatórios promove uma melhor abordagem terapêutica.
