Quando combinada com outras técnicas, ela pode aumentar a qualidade da pesquisa e revelar uma realidade que de outra maneira não seria descoberta. visual method, visual technique, elicitation, graphic elicitation, health, medicine Graphic elicitation is a technique within qualitative research in which a graphical tool is used to represent information that has both text and image attributes. Both the researcher and the participant can expose their thoughts, concepts and ideas during an interview using this tool. Different areas of knowledge are using visual methods, including health. However, the term graphic elicitation is little used in this area. Therefore, this article aims to present the concept of elicitation, to introduce five forms of graphic elicitation and to exemplify its use in the health area. This will be done through a literature review on elicitation techniques. As a result, we have a summary of five graphic elicitation techniques exemplified with articles and illustrative representations created by the authors. The conclusion is that graphical elicitation is an appropriate technique when we want to deepen and illustrate the research problem. When combined with other techniques, it can increase the quality of research and reveal a reality that otherwise would not be discovered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
