As competências infocomunicacionais são imprescindíveis para a aprendizagem requerida no contexto universitário e estão relacionadas a um melhor desempenho acadêmico. Avaliar as percepções de autoeficácia, as motivações de aprendizagem e as atitudes dos estudantes em relação a essas competências é condição indispensável para a tomada de decisão informada em programas ou cursos de formação promovidos por bibliotecas universitárias. Dessa forma, este trabalho apresenta os resultados parciais de pesquisa que propõe a construção de um instrumento de avaliação das percepções de competências infocomunicacionais, seguindo os preceitos da Psicometria, área da Psicologia que preocupa-se com a validade e fidedignidade de instrumentos de pesquisa. Como metodologia, modelos e padrões de competências em informação e comunicação foram analisados para a extração dos comportamentos que embasaram as afirmações do instrumento. As afirmações foram categorizadas de acordo com as dimensões da abordagem Super 8. Como resultados parciais, o artigo traz uma síntese dos comportamentos extraídos e um recorte dos itens do instrumento. Espera-se que a aproximação com a Psicometria traga avanços para a Ciência da Informação no Brasil e contribua para a avaliação de competências infocomunicacionais.
