Os pavimentos flexíveis são estruturas que apresentam deterioração funcional e estrutural ao longo do tempo. Estes problemas tendem a comprometer o conforto e segurança nas estradas. Sendo assim, este trabalho tem como objetico avaliar a estrutura e função de um segmento rodoviário localizado em Barreiras na Bahia, Brasil, através do Penetrometro Dinâmico de Cone (DCP -Dynamic Cone Penetrometer) em conjunto avaliação objetiva. Para dar suporte aos ensaios de campo foram realizados ensaios laboratorias de caracterização, compactação, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) e DCP. A avaliação em campo foi dividida em dois trechos. Avaliação objetiva do trecho 1 gerou um conceito REGULAR, enquanto que o trecho 2 foi gerado conceito RUIM, sendo boa parte dos defeitos relacionados a camada de revestimento. Os solos apresentaram predominância pedregulhosa e elevado CBR em laboratório. Os perfis estratigráficos obtidos não mostraram uniformidade nas espessuras das camadas de base e sub-base, estando em grande parte com espessuras menores que o projetado. Através da avaliação estrutural de campo e das correlações de laboratório, foi verificado que as capacidades resistentes das camadas ao longo dos trechos estavam dentro das faixas limites estabelecidas.
