A presente comunicação pretende realizar algumas considerações acerca das pinturas do artista suíço Felice Varini (1952), realizadas nas superfícies de edifícios, ruas e paredes em diversas cidades do mundo. Definida pelo professor e crítico de arte Joël Koskas como uma “anti-Monalisa”, a obra de Varini constitui-se de formas geométricas que, após projetadas por canhões de luz nas paredes, tetos e demais superfícies arquitetônicas, são coloridas em tonalidades contrastantes.
A proposta desta comunicação é realizar uma breve discussão acerca dos conceitos de arquitetura e espaço na obra do artista norte-americano Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978), especialmente em sua produção concentrada nos anos de 1974 a 1977. É neste período que o artista realizou os cortes nos edifícios, que o tornariam famoso. Estas intervenções, conhecidas por building cuts, apresentam uma leitura diferente do espaço, bem como uma reinterpretação da linguagem da arquitetura.
Gostaríamos de realizar, nesta comunicação, realizar algumas considerações acerca da obra de Joseph Beuys (1921 – 1986), especificamente sobre suas performances, no sentido de entendê-las como um processo de resgate, ampliação e assimilação de experiências humanas, numa chave mística. O passado polêmico do artista como integrante da Juventude hitlerista e aviador da Luftwaffe na Segunda Guerra Mundial, bem como os eventos decorrentes do desastre aéreo sofrido em 1944, transformaram-se em uma espécie de mito – o resgate e cura do piloto por uma tribo tártara que manteve seu corpo envolto em gordura animal e feltro – e contribuíram para que Beuys fosse um defensor das propriedades curativas da arte, crença expressa em suas performances ritualísticas.
A presença feminina na vida e na obra do artista italiano Umberto Boccioni (1882-1916) não se restringiu somente aos seus casos amorosos (como, por exemplo, seu envolvimento com Ines, modelo para muitas de suas obras); sua mãe e sua irmã são frequentemente lembradas e mencionadas em seus diários, cartas e demais textos. As mulheres foram figuras tão importantes na vida de Boccioni que a sua obra – independentemente de estar situada em sua fase pré-futurista ou não – está impregnada de referências ao universo feminino, direta ou indiretamente. Assim, este texto pretende, através de um percurso por algumas de suas pinturas, desenhos e esculturas, traçar um itinerário da poética do feminino em sua obra, e de como o tema da mulher auxiliou no desenvolvimento de suas pesquisas sobre a representação da luz e sua relação com os corpos e o ambiente.
Este artigo apresenta, pela primeira vez em língua portuguesa, um manifesto escrito por Fedele Azari (1896-1930), um dos principais artistas da chamada segunda fase do Futurismo italiano. O texto “Por uma Sociedadede Proteção das Máquinas”, escrito em 1927, aborda uma questão vital da estética da vanguarda: a relação entre homens e máquinas dentro do contexto da sociedade industrial. O presente manifesto de Azari apresenta ao estudioso da teoria de arte uma oportunidade de entrar em contato com as ideias de um personagem pouco conhecido da vanguarda italiana.
