El perrito de la pradera mexicano es una especie endémica de México, característica de los pastizales. A pesar de ser considerada clave para la conservación de su hábitat, se encuentra en peligro de extinción debido a la actividad agrícola cercana a sus poblaciones. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar y cuantificar los residuos de plaguicidas en el suelo y el agua de las colonias de perrito de la pradera mexicano (Cynomys mexicanus) en Coahuila y Nuevo León. Se recolectaron 4 muestras de agua y 55 de suelo, se extrajeron los plaguicidas mediante la técnica Soxhlet y se analizaron con el método de Cromatografía Líquida de Alta Resolución (HPLC). Se detectaron residuos de glifosato, endosulfán, metamidofos, malatión, clorpirifos, deltametrina, imidacloprid y metomilo en un 99% de las muestras analizadas. El glifosato se detectó en concentraciones más altas (14.8 mg/mL) en las muestras de agua de Coahuila. Por otro lado, en las muestras de suelo de Nuevo León, se detectaron concentraciones más altas de glifosato y metamidofos (11.6 y 13.5 mg/mL respectivamente). Los resultados sugieren que los plaguicidas presentes en el suelo y el agua pueden estar afectando a las poblaciones de C. mexicanus debido a la persistencia, toxicidad y bioacumulación de los plaguicidas aplicados en las zonas agrícolas cercanas.
Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de plaguicidas organofosforados en muestras de orina, con la finalidad de proponer el uso adecuado de medidas de seguridad para reducir riesgos laborales provocados por la constante exposición a estos productos. Materiales y métodos: Se utilizó una técnica colorimétrica para la determinación de cuatro plaguicidas organofosforados: metamidofos, malatión, clorpirifos y naled, en muestras de orina recolectadas en el estado de Coahuila. Se utilizó un espectrofotómetro ultravioleta visible para su análisis. Resultados: Los datos obtenidos en esta investigación mostraron que los cuatro productos analizados se encontraron presentes en las muestras de orina, en un rango de concentraciones de 11.4 a 654.15 μl/ml. Conclusiones: Se obtuvieron resultados positivos en las dieciséis muestras de orina, encontrándose presencia de los cuatro plaguicidas organofosforados estudiados, lo que podría indicar una falta de uso de medidas de seguridad en los trabajadores.
Se determinó la calidad microbiológica del cilantro (Coriandrum sativum L.) de diversos centros comerciales de Saltillo, Coahuila, México, a través de la determinación de índices microbiológicos. Se empleó la metodología descrita en la norma NOM-112-SSA1-1994 para la determinación de coliformes totales por el NMP, la determinación de parásitos se hizo por concentración y observación directa. Como resultado se obtuvo que los supermercados analizados están fuera de los límites microbiológicos, tanto para coliformes totales como parásitos, siendo Ascaris lumbricoides el de mayor presencia. Las muestras de cilantro rebasaron los límites permisibles que marca la norma, posiblemente por carencia en la aplicación de SRRC-SENASICA (México) durante la manipulación previa, así como en la venta.
