O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os efeitos fitotóxicos e o desenvolvimento inicial cajuaçú (Anacardium giganteum W. Hancock ex Engl.), após a aplicação de subdoses de glyphosate, a fim de controlar plantas daninhas em áreas de restauração florestal. Um ano após o plantio, foram aplicadas três doses de glyphosate, sendo: T1 = 86,4, T2 = 25 172,8 e T3 = 345,6 g i.a. ha-1, na dosagem de 3,0 L ha-1 do produto comercial e T4 = Testemunha (sem aplicação de herbicida). Aos 7, 14, 21, 28 e 120 dias após a aplicação (DAA) do herbicida foram atribuídas notas para a fitotoxicidade visual, além da medição da altura e diâmetro do caule. Após 120 DAA foi observado que o A. giganteum se apresentou sensível a aplicação do herbicida. O crescimento em altura foi afetado significativamente após o contato das plantas com o glyphosate, mas o diâmetro do caule não teve efeito negativo.
